I put over $500 deposit for an apartment to be built. My guareentor faxed and emailed them requested documents 3 times, but 2 different fax #’s did not work. This happened over a week. 2 weeks later they asked for a new notorized form asap! She became suspicious, and asked them how they handled late payments, trying to make sure her credit would not get dinged if I were late with a payment. They were so confusing and cold, she finally backed out, not wnting to take the chance. I asked for my deposit back, but they refused, stating I had caused a 3 week delay in rental. This is for an apartment not even built out. They have plenty of time to rent it. When I pointed out that they had contributed to the delay, then they replied that they had spent time on the application. I pointed out that the app fee covered that, not the security deposit. Candice stated that I had forfeited the fee. Be wary of Candice and Cityview! Dishonest people!
