DO NOT BUY AT CIRCUIT CITY GO ANYWHERE ELSE BETTER!!! BEWARE of Circuit City is you’re planning to buy any electronic product from them, specially digital cameras. I bought a DSCP200 Sony Cyber-shot(r) DSC-P200 Digital Camera as a birthday gift for my wife for $279.99 and I added a CSP 2-year Cityadvantage Protection Plan for other $34.99 with a final total of $337.03 with taxes included. My wife started using the camera and she commented to me that the flash was not working all the time she took a picture needing a flash. Well, we used the camera about 5 times since then and finally I checked with someone that have the same camera model taking pictures at the same time. His camera worked perfectly but not ours. I brought the camera in it’s original box to the Cirtcuit City store on 14 October 2006 for request it to be repaired or replaced as stated in my service contract. They gave me the Claim Number H3384631 and a phone number to follow up my camera. I told the lady that I want it returned in the same box. I called at 4:38 PM on 24 Oct 2006 to the phone number 800-555-4615 and I talked to Jose who told me to call back again in an hour.I call again at 6:14 PM and I talked to Alberto this time. He gave me a Case Number 8241274 but no any other information about the status of the repair. The same day I called to the Circuit City Store 215-464-1710 and I talked to Lauren. She told me that she can’t find any information regarding my camera but she said it should be repaired in 2 weeks and they should call me by then. I told her that by that time the camera had 10 days in their hands and I did not received anything from them yet. My wife and I went again to the store on 30 Oct 2006 and we talked to the manager about our camera but he only replied that the camera was sent to the repair center but he had no idea about when it should be repaired. I asked him for a replacement because we needed the camera for a birthday party we were invited but he answered that it should be replaced only if it should have the same defect or any other repeatedly. We returned once again on 6 Nov 2006 and we talked to the same manager but he did not tell me anything regarding the camera repair status. Just he told us that the camera was sent to the manufacturer by the repair center but no other details were provided. He gave me another phone number to call to ask about my camera. I commented to him how long it will take because was close to a month without any news about it. He said it had no idea. I insisted in getting a replacement of my camera due to the long delay in repair the flash but he refused saying that a replacement will proceed only if the manufacturer or the repair center authorize it. I told him about my insatisfaction with the customer service that they were providing for a digital camera repair. I told him that I would feel scare about buying any other thing from them like a HDTV because I could imagine how many problems I should face if I need any repair in it. Today is 14 November 2006 and it have been a whole and long month since I brought the camera for repair. Next week will be Thanksgiving Day and I will be impeded to take any pictures of our Thanksgiving supper because their negligence in provide a quality service. Therefore, I want to warn all the good people that are thinking to buy anything from Circuit City for this upcoming holiday season. Don’t take any break to suffer what we were suffering for the last month. DO NOT BUY IN CIRCUIT CITY NOR BUY THEIR CITY ADVANTAGE PROTECTION PLAN. It will not be honored promptly or adequately.
