Report Filed: Derby Car Centre BUYING FROM THEM LEFT ME WITH NOTHING, LYING CHEATING UNPROFESSIONAL BULLYS Derby Derby!!
My nightmare with this company started 12 months ago. I traded in my Vehicle, a Peugeot 206 Convertible to find the funds to replace my vehicle with a smaller one and also to get my son, who had just passed his test his very first car. It was a HUGE moment for me as I was as so was my son really pleased to be buying his first vehicle. I had passed the dealership a number of times and not being in expensive plush surroundings I presumed that was why they could hold such a large range and prices of vehicle, oh how wrong I was…Also I had just found out I was to be moving house, so a car would be needed even more ….I traded in the Peugeot for a 2003 Ford KA and a 2004 Rover Citycar. The very next day of receiving the car the Head Gasket went on the Ford KA, unlucky I thought …… the following day I went to put petrol in my Rover and there was Petrol ALL OVER the forecourt of the Garage. On inspection the Petrol Inlet Pipe had eroded and had actually come in half. I was obviously very upset and went home. Later that day I had notification that the Ford KA was faulty and needed work on the suspension and also the brakes!!!!!! After all this the alarm system went faulty on my car the immobiliser wouldnt switch off and it was stranded on my front. I had to hire a car for two weeks to go to work. BOTH OF THESE CARS HAD BEED SOLD TO ME WITH 12 MONTHS M.O.T. I contacted the garage, who said they would look into it and call me back. After a week of Phone calls I went to see them in person…. Now I am Female and single and do not have much knowledge of cars to I was totally reliant on trust, and one would think that this is something you could rely on from a large garage in the Centre of Derby who claims to be helpful. Even with my serious lack of knowledge I knew I was in trouble with these vehicles. When I arrived at the garage I was talking to the salesman concerned in a calm manner. I explained to him about the cars and he told me to get a mechanic on it. To which I replied that I wanted a FULL refund. He then talked over me, got louder and said it was not their policy to do that. I explained to him that he didnt have a choice. He became abrupt and told me ‘I dont know what im talking about’. I then explained to him that he has sold me not one but two unroadworthy cars, and the car he sold me for my Son was really dangerous and he could have had an accident any time. His reply was “well thats not my problem””!! Obviously by this time I was not so calm anymore getting upset I told him I was going to be in touch with Trading Standards. He became very very abusive swearing …. I asked if I ad sworn at him once “”No””
