I bought a used vehicle from Holmes Motors in D”Iberville, MS. I put $5, 000 in cash down on the vehicle, and never had a late payment. One morning, I woke up and our vehicle was gone. I called Holmes Motors immediately and discovered that they took it because I didn”t have insurance. My insurance expired one day before they took the vehicle. I called my auto insurance company and asked why I never received a renewal notice…they had sent it to a wrong address. I advised Holmes Motors of this, and was told that I would still need to pay $500 dollars in order to get my vehicle back. Furthermore, when they took my vehicle, they also took our carseats for our 2 and 3 year old. They left us with no legal way to transport our children anywhere. Buyer beware, Holmes Motors doesn”t play around. They are cutthroat to the core.

I brought a car from this car lot and I have paid my car notes on time all the time and I gets calls of saying that I haven”t made payments. I have went to the office many of times tell and showing them about this. At first she told me that don”t worry about that because you paid your bills on time it an auto that send before days or it just an reminder. This happen all the time she said. I keep all of my receipts of everything that I do. So got tired of these lies of trash that she was telling so I went again and this time she says, “its the auto computer that send out reminder but it don”t say its not late but she goes to say this if you past due it would sent”. I look at her and said have I every been late and she said no. You have paid on time and early. I ask her why you keep sending me these past due reminder. She said I don”t know why it keep sending you those past reminders. This is bad business. I know it a bunch of customers said this about Holmes Motors they are slammers. Please buy a vehicle from them go somewhere else to purchase.

i purchase an 02 lincoln ls in july of 07. thank god i got the extended warranty because since then, ive had 3 misfire with the vehicle, the water pump need to be replaced, my passenger side rear knuckle which is over $900 needed to be replaced, & several problems with electrical systems. when they were trying to sell the vehicle to me, some of the windows & the sunroof switched weren”t working. i have had to take it to them several time to find problem that they couldn”t fix. i have tow coverage in my warranty but since they didnt fix anything i had to pay the tow charge after they held my vehicle both times for over 5 day. they also wouldnt assist me in getting a rental vehicle any time i had taken it to them which is covered in my warranty, supposibly. & at the point of sale i was told that my deductable would be waived if i was to use them to fix the car instead of another repair shop, but when i”ve taken it to them they said that gentelemen is longer with them & that covergae is not in my warranty. so i was directly lied to about certain coverage that i do not have. so the warranty has paid for itself but the hassle of dealing with them has made it not worth it. i wish i woulda shopped around move & i didnt get the warranty from them. i would say that i wouldnt get the warranty from them next time but there is no way that i will every get anothe vehicle from them again. i hope you don”t make the same mistake i have.

I took my little sister here because she needed a place that would finance her (her credit isn”t as bad as this establishment though). As soon as we got out of the car a sales man came up to us and started off by telling us that they don”t check your credit, it”s $1400 down, and he needed proof of income and residency. I told him that $1400 was a bit much for my sister and after a bit he said he could sell her a 2002 Malibu for $1000 down. Cool – I”ve had a Malibu, it was fine. After seeing it and driving it, we saw that THIS Malibu was not. It should have been $1000 for the whole car. My sister asked if there were any other cars for $1000 down. He said there were and directed her to drive around to the side of the building and around – WHILE HE POINTED OUT VARIOUS CARS WITH NO ENGINES, NO FRAMES, OR SIMILAR UNDRIVABLE PROBLEMS. I got his name and left. He said, “It”s Chook, ” and as though we were stupid – spelled it out slowly, “C-H-O-O-K”. I worry about a company that would keep an employee like this, but should you end up at Holmes Motors – beware of this guy.
