Contractor was hired and givem $5,000 to do work on my house that burned. He came 2 days , nailed a couple of boards and left a pile of trash inside the house. After I tried to contact him for months, he finally said he quit. I asked for a receipt for the 2 days and materials and to return my money. He then said he changed his mind and would do the work, but kept stalling and never showed up. I asked for my money back again as it was all I had to do some work on my house. It has been almost a year since he was given the money and he will not answer any of my telephone messages or texts. I am a 72 year old retired widow and need the money to do work on the house in order to get the rest of my insurance money from my mortgage company Chase. I was only given 40% of the damages to my house because of “depreciation”” which means old by the insurance company so every dollor is important.”
