Report Filed: Night Owl Security System DVR is defective and Night Owl knew it. Internet!!
The DVR started messing up six months after it was installed. The DVR would get hot and shut off and not record. I called Night Owl and they told me I needed to reset the DVR by unplugging the unit and then waiting a bit then plugging it back in. We started getting spotty recording soon after and I called again. Nothing was resolved. We continued to unplug the unit, wait, then plug it back in, we done this for the another year and a half. Now the DVR doesn’t come on at all. I contacted Night Owl today and they told me..So sorry, your warranty ran out 4 months ago, there is nothing we can do. I feel the DVR should have been replaced six months after I purchased it. They knew it was defective but wanted to get me past the warranty so they didn’t have to do anything to cover a defective dvr.
