The Ringer’s president, Eric Weinberger, has resigned in the wake of sexual harassment claims.
The Ringer, the Bill Simmons Media Group’s flagship website, issued a statement on Tuesday morning confirming the “indefinite” suspension of Eric Weinberger, the organization’s president, in the wake of sexual misconduct claims.
Eric Weinberger is named in a complaint filed against NFL Enterprises in Los Angeles Superior Court by Jami Cantor, a former NFL Network staffer. Cantor claims she was sexually harassed by on-air talents such as ex-NFL players Marshall Faulk, Donovan McNabb, Ike Taylor, and Heath Evans while working as a stylist at the network. Faulk, Taylor, and Evans have all been suspended by the NFL Network.
Eric Weinberger began working for The Ringer in November 2015. Many of those cited in the initial case, including NFL Network CEO Dan Dieffenbach and ESPN analysts Eric Davis and Donovan McNabb (who worked for NFL Network during the time period referenced in the lawsuit), have since lost their jobs. There has been no update on the job circumstances of current NFL Network commentators Heath Evans, Marshall Faulk, and Ike Taylor, who were all suspended when the case was made public.
Cantor claims that “throughout” her employment with the NFL, which began in 2006, she was subjected to “ongoing and continual sexual harassment.” A copy of the lawsuit was published by Deadspin on Tuesday morning.

According to the spokesperson– These are very serious and disturbing allegations that we were made aware of today,” a spokesperson told Kevin Draper of The New York Times. “We are placing Eric on leave indefinitely until we have a better understanding of what transpired during his time at the NFL, and we will conduct our own internal investigation.”
