I set up a tinting appointment 4 days in advance. I was told to bring my car in by 10 am to have the pin-striping removed and the car would be tinted at 11. I brought my car in at 9:50AM on Friday morning and made sure everything was accurate on the work order (window tint, visor tint, pin stripe removal). When I left, they said they would call me when the work was done. I received a call at 2PM stating that the car would be finished in 20 minutes, so I got to the shop at 2:30. When I walked in, the guy at the desk said my car wasn’t there. This was my first red flag. He said because the shop was dirty, the tint guy took my car to an off-site shop to do the work. I was never told that the car would be taken off-site for the work, and their work order states that the vehicle will only be operated for inspection. I let this go and the guy tried to call their tint guy to no avail. He called the owner and the head installer, then came back and said they could do some touch-up work for cost or something to make up for this issue. I don’t need that work done, I just wanted to have my tinting done. After 2 hours of waiting in the shop, my car FINALLY pulls in. Guess what? The pin striping was not removed. So, by now the car has been in 406’s possession for over 5 hours, and the work has yet to be completed. The front desk guy tells me that they didn’t have time to get to the pin-striping that morning. I told him, again, that I had a 10AM appointment to get the stripe taken off and an 11AM tint appointment. There was no reason why the work should not have been completed. But it wasn’t. I finally pay the $300 they charged for the job, and I get out to my car. The tint guy didn’t do the visor I ordered. So I had to go back in, the guy called the owner again and asked if I wanted to talk to him at that point. I was way too frustrated so I said no. After the tint guy finally came back to finish the job RIGHT, I had been waiting for 3 hours in the shop. They kept saying it will be back soon, done soon, etc. Why would I leave when I kept being told it would be done “soon”?I called the owner after I left and he was as rude as can be on the phone. He barely let me explain the issue before interrupting me. He said that I’m calling him complaining about his business and not letting him rectify the situation. How can he rectify the situation when he told he had no clue who I was or what the issue is? His tone was arrogant and unprofessional. Instead of talking to a competent business man, I felt like I was talking with a punk kid trying to play adult. I apologized for being harsh but he had to understand that what happened was not the way to run a business. I run a small business and if I treated customers like this, I wouldn’t have a business any more. After he finally let me explain that the work had gone undone and it wasn’t until I called them out on it that it was completed, he said he would look at it when he got back to the office the next day. He promised he would call me and try to rectify the situation. Well, he never called. I never heard back from 406 Motoring. I have audio work to be done on my vehicle, and they will never have my business again. They may have looked at a tint job as a drop in the bucket, but they lost money by not handling the situation right. If you want quality work done and done right the first time, stay far away from 406 Motoring.
