I had this company install several dozen shrubs in my backyard this spring along my walkways. We did all the preparation for the install. I told the representative/owner Tom that we wanted all the shrubs to be flowering and that we wanted them to flower all winter when we are down for vacation. We also wanted minimal maintenance. He quoted the job and we had them install the plants. We were told that they also provided a 1 year full warranty on the plants. I received a call from our property managers a couple months later (June 2011) and they stated that several of the plants were either dying or already dead. I contacted Tom and he said he came to the residence to inspect and stated that they were not dead. I stated that I could not resolve this over a phone and I would meet with him when I returned in the fall. I arrived Dec 11th and contacted him to meet on site as there were about 20 shrubs dead and a number of other not very healthy at all. We met a week later and he shrugged it all off stating the shrubs were still alive even though they are just bare sticks. He also stated that there had been a “cold snap” a few weeks earlier which probably caused this. I brought to his attention that no one else in the neighborhood has had any problems, that there has “not” been any freezing temps this fall and that it is surprising that only the plants he installed in our yard are the ones dying. The rest of the yard is growing fabulously!!! He then stated that he counted 9 plants that could possibly merit replacement and that we would first need to have the “nursery” come out and inspect them first before any warranty coverage would even be considered. I promptly stated that is was quite clear from his responses over the year as well as this meeting that he had no intentions of making any good on his “so-called warranty” and asked him to leave the property. Quite frankly I am thoroughly disgusted with how Tom has conducted himself and represented his so-called professional company. I am a business man myself, President of a very successful Construction company of over 25 years. I clearly understand what customer service, warranty and client retention are all about. I do not make false claims or fail to backup our product or workmanship for any client. Tom and Accell have failed on ALL accounts. I have since had to hire another company to come in and at my considerable additional costs, remove all dead shrubs and replace with new quality plants, which I might add, after only a week or so in the ground, are THRIVING!!! I would recommend to anyone considering this person and company, RUN AWAY FAST, and that they invest their money with someone else and do their research.
