I had to have my 6 year old Cane Corso named Cosmo put to sleep on Nov 12 2015 because he had bone cancer in his right hind leg which spread to his ribs. On Oct 9th of this year I took him to the vet because was having trouble walking. This was the first that I found out about his condition because he appeared healthy up to that point. He was a beautiful black brindle with a white chest. He was well treated and fed the best foods. He was my companion and protector. I’m so lost without him. He also had cherry eye when he was a pup but after several operations this was taken care of. I was told by his vets that these conditions were hereditary. The only response that I got from the breeder was “we’ll pray for him”. I can’t believe that no other pups from these parents had no health issues like Cosmo did. I have emailed the president of the International Cane Corso Federation to see if there have been any other inquiries. I’ve gotten no response from him. Is there anything I can do to find out? I thought that I was getting Cosmo from a responsible breeder or are they all like this? Is selling the dog all they care about?
