On Sunday, July 12th , having heard on the news the night before that prices were going to jump , I stopped at Chevron to fill my tank with gas. I already had a just over a quarter tank of gas in the car when I arrived. The price of regular was posted as $3.29 a gallon. I proceeded to fill my tank and was surprised when the total came to $59. My car is a 97 Toyota Avalon. The tank fits 18.5 gallons. The warning lights turn on when there’s 2.5 gallons left. $59 at $3.29 a gal = 17.9 gallons. Even when gas prices reached over $4 and my gas light was on- it never came out higher than $63. Starting out with 1/4 tank means there was at least 3.5 gallons in the tank- making it physically impossible to fit an additional 17 gallons. I suspect the pumps are set up to pump undersized gallons(for lack of better description) The math in my case indicates that aproximately .83 of a gallon went in for every full gallon shown on the pump. Its the only explanation that fits the evidence. While it doesn’t sound like a big deal. .. Consider this: 17.93 gal costs $59 while 15 gal costs $49. On a single car partial fill up- they scamed $10. This busy station- with its crazy low price tat haddnt jumped up yet… It would have been slammed all day resulting in thousands of dollars in scammed revenue! Note: Each Chevron is separate franchise and the actions of this one crooked station does not mean its happening at any other Chevron station. And it may have been done only on that day. As a precaution- I’d go elsewhere and always take notice when the numbers don’t add up! .

*WARNING* This is a terrible place to get auto mechanic work completed. The wait time for myself, as well as all the other customers I saw there complaining that their services took exceeding longer than was originally told (I was told 2-4 hours, it became 4 days). The ordering of parts was apparently very difficult for them, even for an American made car. The owner, JAY, was extremely rude, and would not follow through on his original promises. JAY does not take the time to discuss the work with customers, apologize for any inconveniences and demeans customers in front of the other people waiting for service. The one bright spot was JON the service manager. He is attentive, intelligent and extremely well spoken, and although he made some errors regarding wait times, he sincerely regretted the mistakes and was immediately willing to reduce the price, arrange other transportation and treat you like a human being. However, that said, due to extremely long waits, poor ownership customer service (JAY) and very small, limited space thereby reducing efficiency of service, I would strongly recommend anyone from getting work done here.

…after I went in and grabbed a few things. It was only 10:40 pm and the hours are supposed to be until 12am. Even the gas pumps weren”t open. I drove a couple of blocks to another Arco which was open. She and a man who I held the door open for both said “We”re closed”. Arco charges it’s customers $ .45 every time we want to use our debit card at their gas stations. When asked, Arco says the charge is for processing and the convenience of not dealing with, or going into, the store, and wait in line for your receipt. The problem is that there is never paper in the cash machines so you must go inside and wait in line to get your receipt. Where is the convenience in this???? As to the processing charges, they have instituted a debit card of their own that erases the $.45 charge. What happened to the “cost of processing” with this new card? The major problem with that is if your legal address is a PO Box, you are declined without cause! When contacted about both of these issues all you get is corporate blah blah! When you think about it, if you aer getting 10 gallons of gar, the $.45 charge is an added $.045 cents to each gallon of gas. You might want to look around for another company who’s gasoline costs 4 or 5 cents more so that you don’t have to put up with the Arco rip-offs and wasting time in their lines.

ARCO on Riverside and Cirby in Roseville CA. Many cars were waiting for pumps and some girl was busy talking with another customer after finished pumping gas. I asked her to move on so that others could have a turn. She told me to “[censored] off entitled white [censored]” so I went inside to complain to the cashier. The cashier went out and started laughing with the rude customer. This was very upsetting as she is then encouraging the racist hate speech. When I came out of the am/pm the rude customer accused me of being entitled white racist. I never said anything about race!!! She was the one using hate speech against me. The girl was acting like a prostitute and yelling profanity at me. Feel free to review cameras . This occurred on July11 at approximately 3:30 pm. It was very upsetting. I will not go to this ARCO again. I have photos of the cashier for identification purposes. but a shift schedule should also reveal to you who the lady cashier was that sided with the rude customer who was keeping many others from pumping gas. Around 3 p.m. Monday June 8th 2018 I went into Arco gas station in Fremont California located on Automall and Grimmer Boulevard to purchase a few items and get air in my tire. I picked up some cherry and apple pies located towards the front of the store by the cash registers and decided that I did not want them and put them back in the same place I had grabbed them from and decided to buy a soda and a couple of beef jerky”s. When I went to pay for the items email employee I did not catch his name. When I put the beef jerky and the soda on the counter he asked me if I was going to pay for the apple pies to. I said I put the apple pies back I decided not to get them I wanted to get the beef jerky instead he proceeded to the back office and told me that he”s going to watch the cameras I said that”s fine stood back there for about 5 minutes and came back up to the register and ring me up for my beef jerky and apple pies and I asked him for an apology and he told me that he”s not going to apologize and that he doesn”t trust white people and started going on a rant about how white people took his land from him and I said why are you being racist and he says I am racist so what. There were few other customers in the store who could not believe what this guy I was saying and neither could I. I paid for my items and left on my way out he continue to say how he doesn”t trust white people and that he how he is racist and I said that”s great you have a good day and when I went outside there was a few other customers who could not believe what he had said. I work in the area and go to this gas station often and I am very upset about this whole situation and for you to hire employees who blatantly say they are racist is something that I can”t fathom. Every day I walk by the Arco station situated at the intersection of a major feeder street (Mission St) off Highway 101 and the main street in a residential neighborhood that leads to our historic downtown. In fact, the subject parcel is located with historic El Pueblo Viejo Landmark District. I am writing today because I am FED UP with what greets everyone in front of this fuel station at this prominent intersection (and has been for the last 18 months that I”ve been walking here): two to three foot tall dead weeds, assorted trash and litter, plastic bags, coffee cups, cigarette butts, dead palm tree fronds, pizza boxes, abandoned shopping carts, and bare, hard-packed dirt devoid of mulch or plantings which probably died from lack of maintenance. It is truly disgusting. It seems that all your company is interested in is making money and not giving a damn about how this place looks to the people who live here, drive, or walk by it on a daily basis. We pay property taxes and keep our yards maintained. You need to get your yard in order as well. Please reply with your plan of action. I have contacted you directly but if this mess isn”t cleaned up pronto I will make a formal complaint to the City of Santa Barbara Community Development Department Zoning Enforcement Section which will open an enforcement case and begin the clock ticking for daily fines. Friday May 31 2019 as I walk up to the cashier I have $5 in quarters in a ziplock bag bag and $1 in dimes and nickels. Hi, I provided $70, sayin git out loud, to the gas clerk named “Dabid”, or “David” on Saturday, Oct 25 at about 1:15pm, since he said their ATM and Credit card pump machines were not working that afternoon. He did not provide me with a receipt. I pumped about $35 of gas, returned to him, and he gave me change for $60. I told I gave him a $50 and $20 bill, but he refused. I advised the cameras would have seen it, but he refused to play them. I asked his name, and he refused multiple times, eventually writing it down in illegable, to me, letters. I accidentally spilled my coffee at cashier counter, male employee /owner came out and started screaming in my face . Repeatedly saying that I have spilled coffee everyday, pointing his finger in my face, screaming over the top of me while I was trying to reply to him. There was 7-8 other customers in the store, it was very humiliating for me, especially since I have been a long time customer. I also had a similar experience at Arco Gas in Los Angeles. I”ve never patronized that company before and I”ll definitely won”t go back there. On Sunday afternoon (11/28/10)I pulled up to the pump and used my debit card at the outside terminal. I selected the pump and returned to pump my gas and no gas came out. I went inside to inform the attendant and was told that my card was not accepted and to pay on the inside. I paid $20.00 + .45 service charge, pumped the gas, and checked the outside terminal to make sure transaction was canceled. I checked my bank account two days later and there was an additional charge of $82.90 date stamped the same day as the $20.00 charge two hours after. I spoke with the owner who was EXTREMELY rude and provided him with my bank statements. He had the audacity to tell me that I must have returned back to the gas station to fill up my tank…BTW I drive a Toyota Highlander or I gave someone my card! I contacted my bank who is now investigating this matter, along with the BBB and Consumer Affairs.

I am a regular at the station located at 16804 Downey Ave.in the city of Paramount, CA and up until just recently this station was Fantastic. But this new guy started named Jorge, and he has an attitude, and not to mention a smart lip and he must be lazy. I say lazy because I have notice that suddenly the restroom has been out of order only when he starts. And just right now I was in the restroom and just as I sat down on the toilet the power only in the restroom goes out, so now I”m trying to use the restroom in the dark. I call my wife who is sitting in the car and just when I started talking I hear him on the other side of the wall say “oh [censored], someone is in there” and no more than 5 minutes after that he is pounding on the restroom door telling me I have been in there over 20 mins. Then he decided that he couldn”t wait for me to finish and he unlock and opened the door while I was using the restroom. After he left the lights suddenly came back on. When I came out he refused to apologize and said he needed to clean the bathroom. I have been sitting here for almost 45 mins writing this and watching but he has yet to clean the restroom. As a matter of fact all he did was lock the door and walk away. My wife went to ask to use the restroom and he had told her it is out of order. I am appalled and angry with my experience today, on 5/5/2019 I went with my daughter to the arco gas station in San Diego, CA on 3860 Old Town Ave to pump gas and use the restroom. Being cinco de mayo it is an extremely busy day with all the traffic and struggle for parking. as I went back inside to turn in the restroom key and pay for gas, I asked the male employee I believe his name is Sabora, (heavier set male) if I was allowed to park there ( at the gas station) as I’m sure he’s getting asked all day. His exact words where “Yes, I’ll allow you to park there for 3 hours, I’ll be gone by then but i’ll make sure she knows, the girl that comes in after me.” the lady standing in line behind me overheard and asked as well and got the yes to park there as well. she then asked if we could park for a max of 4 hours as it is a bit of walking to get to the Fiesta that old town had, he said yes, she even offer to pay him as parking was a nightmare. That happened at 1:37pm, as it is printed on my receipt when both the transaction took place as well as the conversation with his permission to park and leave my car there confirming that it was the black Nissan altima. Tran # 1014001. Upon arriving to pick up my car at 5pm, my car had been towed by Advantage Towing, per the instructions of the employee Desiree who was now on shift. Upon talking to her she says that he did tell her that he gave me permission, but because he’s not there she’s the one that needs to deal with it, she stated that if he was still on shift then I could work something out with him. Work something out with him? Why would I need to work something out when he was the one who gave me permission. At this point I am extremely upset, how do I get permission to park there and get assured that it won’t get towed only to have my vehicle towed!? If it was not allowed your associate who is an extension of your branch should have said No and should be aware of any policies Arco may have. Instead I am stuck having to deal with calling an uber and paying $410.00 to get my car out of a tow yard with my child by my side. I am extremely disappointed with the events that occurred today and am requesting a refund for the $410.00 I paid to get my car out of Advantage Towing for the mistakes your team made. I came and paid in cash for some gas at self serve. I then went outside and pressed the button to start, nothing was working. I went inside to check that the attendant knew what he seemed stunned and came outside and spammed the same button multiple times with no result as I arched him for more than 30 seconds. I had to raise my voice to ask second time if I could use the gas pump on the other side. He mumbled something back, I went to the other side assuming he understood. It still didn’t work, I had to go back inside third time and ask why the pump is not working. I feel like he was being racist was trying to waste my time on purpose as I asked for a receipt for gas purchase which seemed to have surprised him. I went and positioned at another pump and waited for about a minute and then pumps where not activating. I go inside and he finally activates the pump when I yell at him todo so. This further solidified that the pump was working and either the cashier didn’t know how to activate pumps or he was doing it on purpose. I came into this gas station to get gas. The nozzle wouldn’t connect to my car so I had to stand there and hold it. Once I was finished I cleaned out my car and gathered a small Wal-mart bag of garbage. I went to put it in the garbage and the can was full. I looked up to see the man inside pointing down quickly. I was confused at first until i realized he wanted me to walk over the the can by the door. I looked at him and there was no one else at the station and it just made me mad that because the can by my car was full that i should then search for a empty can. I set the garbage on the full can and he got up and walked out the door and said ” I said to put it in this can.” I said ” I just worked 14 hours and would rather not walk away from my unlocked car because you wont empty your garbage can.” He said” Its not my job” I said ” You work here, who job is it?” He said very angry “It’s the morning’s job” I asked who the owner was and he said why. I am a customer that just bought gas and your telling me because i wouldn’t walk to the other can and I’m complaining to you about it that i am not to never come back. He then took a picture of me and my licence plate and said you never come back you don’t buy gas her anymore. So I got in my car and left.

I drove from oregon and had a cell that needed charging for the rest of my trip, my car charging port did not work, I was told if I wanted to buy this blue usb charging bank I can bring it back to an am/pm to get a refund if not working, the attendant had to scan another product and override the price as it was not even in the system, well the charger did not work, I asked for my money back at a local store for me and was told no cannot take it back, corporate told me a would get a call from them and owner of store well this was on 9/22 and now it is 9/28 and guess what no call.. I go to this arco frequently and have never had an issue. I went tonight to get a coffee and a water bottle. I drink coffee from here very often so I have one of the “buy 5 get one free” coffee stamp cards. I proceeded to put sugar and creamer into my coffee and noticed alfonso standing there watching me the whole time. It was very bizarre and he made me feel uncomfortable as though he was either thinking I was going to steal something or looking at me in a sexual way. It was extremely bizarre. I was in a rush so instead of stand there and put all the creamer in one by one I grabbed about 5 creamers and took them with me. I went up to pay and was still friendly with him then he said “we charge for that” I didnt understand what he was referring to and he told me they charge 10 cents for every creamer. I thought that was absurd so I said no thank you i”ll just go and put it in my coffee now rather than pay 10 cents each. As I went back to the coffee area to do this he followed closely behind and started to yell something about “if I throw it away…” I couldn”t understand what he said. I told him what are you talking about i”m not throwing anything away i”m putting the creamer in my coffee. He yelled something else at me which I couldn”t understand as he stood over me (uncomfortably close) and watched as I put the creamer in like I was some sort of criminal. Keep in mind he is a very large man probably about 6″2 and stocky. I am a 5″6 female so he was towering over me. He is much larger than me and I was starting to feel physically threatened from the way he was standing so close and he clearly was very angry. I finally just put my hand up to say stop because he was yelling incoherently at me at this point. When I went to pay I was still attempting to be polite and said to him you need to work on your customer service skills. He said with an attitude “I do what my boss tells me. I come here to make money not to make friends.” I told him I never asked to be your friend, I dont want to be your friend. I again told him he needed to improve his customer service skills because that was part of his job and i”m sure his boss would want that too. He yelled something back but I could barely understand him. He then refused to stamp my coffee card until my card went through and it said approved which it quickly did of course. He then stamped it and literally threw the card in my direction while yelling “bye! Bye! Have a good night! Bye!” in a clearly sarcastic and condescending manner. I was absolutely appalled at this point and was truly feeling threatened since he began throwing things so I just walked out. I think its appalling that he was being so unnecessarily rude from the very beginning and the fact that he kept standing extremely close to me and practically yelling at me in my ear was ridiculous. The last straw was when he literally threw my coffee card at me. Obviously it wasnt going to hurt me but that is such a childish and unprofessional thing to do I cant imagine a business tolerating that sort of behavior towards a customer. The fact that he was literally yelling in my face and threw something at me and was this angry all over the fact that I wanted to take some creamers with me is ridiculous. And I followed his rules and didnt take any creamers with me, I put them in my coffee and he was still so incredibly angry and acting like a child for seemingly no reason. I think he should be reprimanded for this behavior. I am a manager at a retail store and to be a cashier, good customer service is crucial! And you certainly do not ever raise your voice to a customer or throw things at them! If this were my employee, I would terminate them immediately. That behavior is unacceptable especially for someone who has to deal with people all day and is expected to provide a level of good service. I hope that this message gets back to the gm or dm who presides over that store because I honestly felt physically threatened by this very large man who was angrily standing over me and who literally threw something at me. It is clear he should not be working in any job that he has to have contact with people because he cannot control his temper, that much is obvious.

I had an BAD EXPERIENCE at one of your Station in Van Nuys, CA…The location Arco am/pm 7557 Sepulveda Blvd receipts says site ID: ARCO42799001…csh: 8 happened at 03:20:04 AM on 9/28/2018…a Hispanic was behind the counter, giving me problems with buying Fuel and would not let me inside the store, when other customers were already inside buying items..I was trying to get gas, cuz the outside pumps were turned off for some reason when I pulled up. When I finaaly got inside he said the pumps are working..No the pumps were not working. I go to arcoalot and this the 1ST time I been Humiliated…I dont like ARCO and IM gonna tell TV stations and NEWs about you.

I handed Monica a 20 dollar bill and said my pump number she said ok then I went outside to find out the pump wasn”t working and I went back inside to inform them about it and they said my 20 is too old but it is real and that I need to give them another one then she gave it back seconds later saying my real 20 dollar bill can”t be accepted.. I always face discrimination but this is beyond my handling point.. she refused my money after admitting it was real for no reason at all this is really really unacceptable.

I have lived in back of arco for over 35 yrs. never a problem. now with new owners there is 24 hours a day noise coming from a generator, refrigeration unit or something that is very hard to take. there are five familys in back of the store and we all have the same complaint, and have told the owner but no results. this store is located on the corner of Ball and Moody in Cypress California. Can you please help us. there is an old woman recovering from cancer sergury right in back and she can”t sleep or relax. Please help us end this noise. I live close to this location and up till last night would go to their store about every other day. I went in two nights ago, (sober if anyone was wondering) to buy some milk. I asked one of the employees If They Carried half gallon milk he looked at me and ignored me so I asked him again I said, “Sir, do you carry half gallon milk. He looked at me with a scowl and said, “Go look! No we dont have!” He is raising his voice at me at this point. I pay for the milk and leave. I stopped in last night and parked my bike against the wall by the store entrance door. The same employer was including garbages outside right next to me and against Cal and made some noises it looked at me. So I asked him is my bike in your way and he looked at me and turned away I said, “Sir, is my bike in your way or is it okay to be here he said it was fine and i said okay. I walked into the store and was looking for a particular soft drink I didn”t see it so i asked the same guy as he walked by. He yelled at me threw his hands up in the air and threw the garbage bag in his hand up in the air turn towards me and give me a dirty look. By this point I was upset and starting to raise my voice but I asked him, “Why are you treating me so rudely? I”m here to spend money. I”ve never been disrespectful to you. Why are you doing it to me. He refused to answer it just kept giving me dirty looks I don”t even know this person other than coming to a store and buying something once in awhile and seeing him there. Several people have told me they had problems there before with this employee but the owners don”t care and they”re [censored] towards the complaining customers as well when they say something to the owner. Taking my business elsewhere and so is my family. My aunt gets gas their and herhusband gets Gas there. It may not matter to the employees and manager, but I”m not that it matters to Fargo”s corporate office when I”m going to be in touch with tomorrow unbelievable anger and yelling to the point I had to step back wondering what he was going to do next that”s how loud that”s how rude.

I live in Castaic, California and can say I was happy to hear we were getting a ARCO / AM PM station – What I have found is frustrating on Management policy. I now am at a point where I am not going there for gas. This has been happening for awhile but this is an example for what a customer has to deal with. I pull in open gas tank cap- try to use my debit card and the pump unit does not work – no response at all. I move my car and try a different pump and this one errors out a different way but it still is the same type of result of not allowing me to pump gas. I move one more time and then walk into the station. I ask the attendant why there are so many issues with the pay at the pump and she stated that “Management will not allow hand written signs to be placed at the pump”. Why is it that 1) they do not get these pumps fixed. They have been broken for a long time. 2) Get pre-printed signs so we can go to a pump that works. My suggestion is to just go there and watch as the customers try and try to use their cards and end up walking in because so many pumps do not work. Poor representation of what your company should stand for.

I stopped to get gas at the Arco on 2439 Garfield Ave S, Monterey Park, CA 91754. I attempted to pay $12 in dimes because of my circumstances and I was denied because the worker Lorena said that they had to be in coin packs. I myself offered to count out the money but she refused and said she wouldn”t take anything. I am extremely disappointed in this service because it is the first time I have been denied service at any Arco station. I have been buying gas from Arco for approximately 20 years and this service was a disrespect towards me. Unfortunately I had to take my form of payment to the competitor Shell, where they gladly accepted my form of payment. The time of the incident was between 7:30 and 7:35 on Friday October 5th. I know the worker does not represent the face of Arco but this is what she is portraying right now. I hope proper action is taken.

I travel from LA to San Francisco and back once a week and stop at this ARCO frequently. The store is nice, clean, and most of the employees are friendly. However, there is one employee, an older Hispanic man, that is drunk every time I stop there during the day or evening. I think his name tag says Rene. I can smell the alcohol on him and he can be downright rude. He doesnt want to listen to customers and gets impatient if he has to explain things. I have seen him so drunk that he has had a hard time talking. He shouldn”t be allowed to drink while on the clock and it needs to be addressed. It is a safety issue for not only him, but fellow employees as well as customers. I only.continue stopping at that store because the other employees are so friendly and its refreshing to see bright smiles from the girls working there. I would hate to have to find another stop because an employee doesnt understand there is as time and place for drinking, and the workplace isnt it. Save that for your off time.
