My car-buying experience with this guy was the worst I have ever encountered. When I went in to look at cars he showed me a few I was interested in and after test driving the car I wanted, he told me it had not been “quality inspected” yet, but that it would be done the next day and as long as nothing was found wrong with it the car would be registered and ready the beginning of the following week. I put down a significant amount for a down payment and filled out the necessary paperwork. His web site noted that the specific car had a CarFax history report, so I checked it and found no bad information about the car…it all looked clean. However, while entering the VIN into CarFax, and comparing the paperwork I had filled out at Bernardo Motors, I noticed he had entered a lot of incorrect data that did not match up to what CarFax displayed. I asked him to change it and he did after weeks of tracking him down. Also, when it came time to pick up my car he came up with a list of things wrong with the car that had to be fixed and said it would take a couple more days. After 2 weeks of calling him daily, he would come up with more things wrong with the car and told me it was in the garage being fixed. I would drive by the establishment every time he told me the car was at a third-party garage and come to find out, the car had not moved….in fact, the car still had the “for sale” flags and stickers on it. When confronted, he would come up with more lies in an attempt to cover his deception. To make a long story short, after being forced to spend over $1,000 on a rental car while waiting for my new car to be “fixed” I ran out of money. He told me not to worry that he would pay for the rental car for a couple days until the new car was fixed; he called them while I was in his office to notify the rental company of this. Almost an additional 2 weeks later I received the new car. Come to find out, he never paid for the rental car for the last 2 weeks as promised and the amount instead, came off of my credit card the rental company had on file. This caused my credit card to go beyond its limit and now I have extra fees I am stuck paying because of David Taylor and his lies. To top it off, because he held the car for so long, the warranty expired and all the things he promised to fix is still broken and will have to yet again come out of my pocket. He is a pathalogical liar who is rude, obnoxious, and handles business in an unprofessional and careless manner. I will never go to Bernardo Motors again. I wonder how he stays in business…….
