I ordered 2 benches online from a company in Chicago. I requested a specific color of vinyl. When the benches arrived, they were not the color I ordered. I immediately contacted the merchant, who steadfastly denied any liability and refused to work with me. I returned the benches at my own expense, and I notified CU of CO that I was disputing the charge to my VISA card. It was temporarily reversed, but the credit union later changed its decision, and re-instituted the charge. I attempted every avenue to work with the credit union, to no avail. VISA rules require that a charge-back be issued if the merchandise was not as described or ordered, AND the customer returned the merchandise. For some reason, the credit union felt that VISA’s rules do not apply to it, and that I should pay for merchandise I no longer have. I also discovered that the merchant had violated other VISA rules, as well as the Truth-in-Lending Act, and therefore did not deserve to be paid. This, too, was ignored by the credit union. I have asked the credit union to submit this case to binding arbitration through VISA. I am in the process of finding an attorney to file a bad-faith claim against the credit union for its failure to represent its member in good faith against a fraudulent merchant. I had been a member of this credit union since 1974, when it was the Colorado State-Employees’ Credit Union. I have now moved all my accounts to a local bank.

This is about the CUofC branch in 6/7/2019 at 7541 East Iliff Avenue, Denver CO 80231 303-832-4816. I have banked for many years at the Mines CU which joined the Colo State Employees CU which became Credit Union of Colorado. I was working with a young banker lady for a loan on one of my cars. I am a very personal person. The banker was telling me about her boyfriend and her were going to a festival. I told her that I think that is a great idea for her to go with her boyfriend. In the middle of the transaction, the branch manager she was new and had taken over the branch (from Stephanie who managed it before then and was a great person) came to me and suggested that she would finish the transaction. I went to her office with her and she was typing something on her computer and would not give me her name. Turns out that she was typing out a complaint form about me for sexual suggestive talk. I never said anything about sexual content or nature by the way. Then I was banned from the CU and it took about a year to get my IRA out of the Credit Union and close the account. Their behavior was ridiculous. The Main manager who I knew before and we were great friends turned on me. I had many car loans that I had paid off on time and had some friends there. There was a teller there that I knew who was one of the best people that I have known who was fired or left a couple of months before this happened in the year 2019.
