At the time I ordered $2,500 in tile from fastfloors.com, I was promised a rebate if I paid by check, rather than by credit card. I sent in the check. I was promised a 9 percent discount on my order, which would have been a rebate of about $220. I was told the rebate had to be sent in by November 30 OR within 30 days after the tile arrives. Further, you cannot send in the rebate form until after your tile arrives. Although I was promised the tile within one month, fastfloors.com later told me that delivery of the tile would be delayed because the manufacturer had botched my order. The tile finally arrived on December 15. That same day, I went online to obtain my paperwork for the rebate. The system told me that I was no longer entitled to the rebate because I had not sent in my paperwork by the deadline of November 30. I contacted fastfloors.com twice, and they have refused to respond to my inquiry. Their website says that rebates depend upon offers directly from the manufacturer, and therefore, if tiles do not arrive timely, the rebate may no longer be available. The problem with this excuse is that fastfloors.com offered the rebate in the first place only if you pay by check because a check payment saves fastfloors.com the bank processing fee if you charge the order. Therefore, fastfloors.com got the benefit of me paying by check, but refuse to give me the bank processing fee savings that they promised. There is no excuse for them keeping the rebate. Blaming it on the delay in deliery, which I had no control over, is ridiculous.
