I ordered what I thought was a Star Trac Recumbent Bike. FB Website shows a Star Trac, I asked for a Star Trac because that is the Recumbent Bike my wife and I have been using at our local YMCA for the past 7 months. I learned later that our salesman switched it to a Cybex. Why would I order a brand that I have never heard of? My salesman promised delivery in 7-14 days as well as set up in our home. Then I learned that was extra $$. I dug a little deeper and discovered the “switch,” a Cybex instead of Star Trac. I cancelled the order only to discover I would have to pay for return shipping and 20% restocking fee. Stay away from Fitness Blowout.

Jim Rosen. the president of the Company
Jim Rosen. the president of the Company seems to be very charming to talk to but the facts are he is very sneaky and deceptive. The Company has a great web-page but don’t believe anything you see or read on these web-pages when it comes to pricing. If you end up doing business with this Company, I suggest that you have someone on an extension phone listening to your conversation or recording the conversation if it’s legal to do in your state when talking to their sales department about pricing because you will probably need the evidence later. Read the other reports and you will get the idea of what I’m talking about. I didn’t do my homework or I would have gone to another Company even if it had cost more. I screwed up.
Move very quickly from the Fitness Blowout
Move very quickly from the Fitness Blowout website. I had to file a lawsuit to get what I purchased. The website is slick. It’s easy to use. The graphics are great. You can even view the owner’s family picture?! And if these don’t hook you, you have Hulk Hogan, Cheryl Crow and Michael J. Fox apparently endorsing the site. You are drawn in. You want to trust these people. What could go wrong?… Most everything. Working with Fitness Bowout has undoubtedly been the worst customer experience I have ever had. I purchased a Precor 576i elliptical in November 2013. I received the machine in December, but the wrong console was attached, it was not completely functional and it was cracked. I spent tens of hours on the phone, mostly waiting for someone to pick up, functioning as my own service rep and as go-between between the various departments, but none of the service reps could solve my problem. I was put in contact with Jarryd, the Assistant Director of Customer Service, who, after weeks of frustration, lost sleep, unanswered emails, complaints to other reps just so Jarryd would respond to me, sent me the top half of the wrong computer console. It was then that Fitness Blowout realized that they had sent me the wrong machine as well. Meanwhile, I had filed an online complaint with the BBB of Los Angeles and Silicon Valley, but they closed the case as Fitness Blowout did not respond to three attempts at communication. I refused to accept the lesser machine, which clearly was not the the machine advertised on the website, for which I pain $3700.00. Many months into this process, Jarryd finally suggested that I be shipped a whole new machine. Then he stopped communicating with me. I spent tens of more hours pleading for help and complaining to no avail. I sent a certified letter to the owner, Mr Jim Rosen, notifying him of my intention to sue if the problem were not resolved, but received no response. Using an online small claims filing company, I filed a small claims lawsuit at Iglewood Courthouse, Superior Court of California, Court of Los Angeles, Southwest District. Soon after the court date was set (June 26, 2014), Jarryd emailed me astounded that I was still having provlems?! I ultimately received the elliptical advertised and the suit was dismissed on June 3, 2014. This was a six-month nightmare, easily confimed at the BBB and Inglewood Courthouse. It is hard for me to understand how this company stays in business. They claim that 95% of customer problems are caused by their distributors, but it seems to me that the real problem is in how Fitness Blowout responds to the distributors’ mistakes. No one seems to know what is going on. No one would take responsibility for my problem. I believe that without a court date, I would have been left with a $3700.00 useless hulk of metal. The on-line complaints about Fitness Blowout are maddeningly consistent. I suspect, based on the many complaints I read, that many customers give up and accept the item shipped to them, even if it was the wrong item or not working properly. Be very careful. Be wary of the origin of positive reviews, and save all documentation. Better yet, go somewhere else.

Absolutely the WORST company I have ever dealt with in my life. I purchased a treadmill in August and they advised I could pay 70% for it to ship. It took 25 days to get the treadmill. I had to call constantly for information and spoke to Rene Chavez in shipping and Steve Barzilai supposed Vice President as to where my product was. Note I had to chase them down. I called and emailed often, with no response. I am a single mom, and sole provider in my household. Spending over 1000 dollars did not come easy. When the treadmill was on the way, I was told that it was not the one I ordered, as the one I ordered they did not have. They supposedly sent me an upgrade at no additional cost but could never produce a revised invoice with the model number of what I actually bought. The treadmill came with parts missing. You have to sign for delivery and can’t open the box first to look at what you have. The worst of it all is that they told me I had 6 months to pay the balance and then without authorization charged my card a portion of the balance while I was traveling for work. They have yet to reverse the charge. This company has poor customer service, poor communication, and it is my opinion all they care about is the $. Don’t buy from this company. Read all reviews before you buy. I wish I had. Disatisfied single mom in Fl.

As stated in hundreds of other reviews, this company scams money out of customers with a multitude of illegitimate tactics. They skirt the law with clever corruption, but actually are destined to fail as soon as people get together and file a class action lawsuit against them. Never, ever, under any circumstances use this company. You will regret it and be out a lot of money.

Beware!!! Guarantee?? Jim rosen has trained his staff in a slick deceptive sales pitch. Then uses a 5 page “policy” that creates the vehicle for his company to take your money on day one with no accountability for bad service, no service, faulty merchandise or forget… Change your mind. Delivery? Damaged merchandise? Wrong merchandise? Money back forget it!!! He will wear you down with double talk and no remedy… He relies on your being too busy to read the policy and later too weary to jump the considerable hurdles he manages to place in the path of recovering your money. Here is a sample from the better business bureau complaints on this company. Check out the rest… Complaint Complaint description – posted 8/4/2006 Summary – they sold me defected treadmill for 1537 us$ and are not giving me full refund as promised. I have been trying to return it for a year. Initial complaint They sold me a model other than the one I ordered (I ordered keys 8800 they sent me cardiozone club max hrt) and it was bad equipment it did not work. I ordered it on 7/31/05, the day I recieved it on 8/10/05 and assembled it on 8/13/05 it was in non working condition. They promised me full refund without any questions asked. And they did not keep their promise. I have correspondence to prove it. Resolution sought I would like a refund. Additional information Date problem first occurred: 8/13/2005 Product or service: extremely poor. Ive spent several fruitless hour on phone with them. Model name or number: cardiozone max hrt Date purchased: 7/31/2005 Order number: 30897 Amount in dispute: $1, 800.00 Company’s response Initial response – posted 8/15/2006 Summary – cusotmer is past her “free in home trial” as allowed on our website for a full refund. A replacemnet unit ican be sent for her order. No refunds are allowed at this time. Response Customer orderd a unit over a year ago. She requested service several months after her purchase was delviered. There are no notations of service requests of her machine from the manufacturer as they are by contract designated to service. She was provided documentation (Manual) for any service requests and returns. It is noted that on january 13, 2006 she requested a confirmation for a refund, however that was past the promotional time allowed for her refund. We are willing and able to replace her machine if it is not working properly as it is published on our website. No refunds are allowed at this time as this order is over a year old. Consumer’s rebuttal Rebuttal – posted 9/20/2006 Consumer is not satisfied with company’s response. She states the treadmill was not in working condition. When she said she wanted to return it she was told that she had to get it fixed and till she does that and tries it for few weeks, she is not eligible for return because it was against company policy. And that her 30 day money back guarantee period would not start till she tried it for a few weeks after the treadmill was fixed. So she put all efforts in getting the treadmill fixed. Which she had called you multiple times but to no avail. So therefore, she was advised by the arizona’s attorney general to take your company to small claims court if you did not reimburse her monies. Company’s final response Final response – posted 9/21/2006 The complainant is responsible for the shipping costs involved in her order this is clearly published on our webiste and on her invoice. Even if she called during her free trial period of the first 30 days she is still responsible for the shipping costs. This is to only be aplied to her treadmill and no other equipment. She has been sent a return authorization form, once completed item will be retrieved and she will be properly refunded.

Bought a treadmill from this company, comes with “Lifetime” warranty and no one will contact us about getting treadmill fixed. Buyer be VERY aware. This company will not live up to any agreements. Will come on as concerned for health and happiness. Charge a premium price including warranties. Been without a lifetime warranty part for 3 months. Son purchased Cardiozone Fasttrack with all warranties extended. Unit came in bent. Packaging was good. Lie after lie, accusations as to fault. Never responding to communications or informing customer of status. Plays on sympathies until all human composure is tested. Finally, you will end the purchase agreement through legal resources. Find another vendor. Do not use these people.

Do not buy from this company, especially their cardiozone treadmills! This company has an f rating with the better business bureau and they lie completely about the specs on their treadmills!! They are running a bunch of crooks! I purchased a cardiozone supersport treadmill that was advertised to have a huge 4.0 hp motor built with a massive steel frame. The salesman steve barzilai told me the treadmill was better than the life fitness treadmill I had originally called about. When I got the thing, it was a complete hunk of garbage that I paid $2600 for! The treadmill wasn’t made of steel, it was made of aluminum!! Furthermore, the motor went out after two weeks and I had to have a tech come in my home and change it. Guess what, the tech said that the motor was a 1.0 motor, not a 4.0 motor like advertised!! It appeared someone had put a 4.0 sticker on the motor intentionally!! That is fraud!! When I called to complain I got some rude customer service rep name auggie that said he would look into the matter and call me back. After trying for several weeks to reach my original sales rep steve or a manager I just gave [protected]@ Do not purchase anything from this company or you will be getting ripped off!! This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with any company!

Do not order from fitnessblowout.com. Like every other complaint you will see about this website, they are scam artists. They will do whatever they please. Our package was “lost” on the way to us, and because we were treated so poorly by the company, we asked for our money back and for them not to send another. They proceeded to not call us back for days and days, and emailed us at a work email on a saturday mentioning that they were “under the impression that we would like the second machine as long as it was shipped”rush”delivery”… This is absolutely not what we had discussed, yet they do not care. They will scam you out of thousands of dollars, and from what i’ve heard, the machines are not worth the money. We are considering a lawsuit against the company for the problems we’ve had. I was also treated poorly by customer service on the phone saying I was “just being argumentative” and that I was “manipulating the situation because of my customer service background”. You can never get through to anyone, and when you do, you will not make it to anyone with any power in the company. This business should be shut down.

I ordered a FreeMotion Elliptical on 6/27/11. After a couple of weeks of not receiving a tracking number, and time to ponder my purchase, I opted to cancel the order. I knew that I would have to pay a restocking fee of 20%, and that was understandable to me. However, when I call to cancel, I was rudely told that not only would I have the restocking fee, but the shipping to and from the warehouse, even thought it hadn’t even left the warehouse. Making my cancellation cost over $700. I gave a “whatever”, as I didn’t want the equipment, and wanted to end my converstation with the rude associate to not go completely off on her. My original salesperson was supposed to call me with the verification of cancellation. That person never called. Fast Forward 2 weeks later, and I receive a bill from the finance company for the full amount, and still no verification from Fitness Blowout. So I call FB, and finally talk to a supervisor, and explain the situation, and basically told them that policy is a bad policy and unfair to a customer to pay that when they hadn’t lifted a finger. That supervisor told me that he would forward my verbal irritation and concern to his supervsior, Steve, and would call me back. We chatted momentarily, as I had a meeting to get to, so he said he would call me back. Well, he didn’t call me back, but I did. I talked to Steve, and after a lenghty conversation, and points being made by both, Fitness Blowout successfully rectified my situation. And that makes me a happy customer. It took a lot of time and phone calls, but once you reach the right person, I think you might get a satisfying result. I must say, persistance is one of my virtues 😉 I wish you all resolution with your issues with Fitness Blowout. It worked out well, for me.

I placed my order with Michael on Dec. 29th. The ordering process went smoothly. I was told to expect delivery in 3 weeks. I called 3 weeks later and was told the item was actually on back order from the manufacturer. I wished to cancel my order, and Michael said he’d take care of it. I get a call back stating they would offer an additional $100 off if I would keep the order and wait 3-4 more weeks. I refused and asked for the order to be canceled. I then received a a series of emails stating my order was now being handled by Augustine, Joanne, Sandy, Nick. After 3-4 days of receiving all these emails, I still had no order cancellation number. I emailed and called again. This time I received an email both from Joanne and Michael that my order has been canceled. After 7 days I contact the credit card and the charges are still not reversed. I send an email to Michael, Joanne again. This time I receive an email from Steve (Manage) asking Joanne “to process the order ASAP with full refund.” 2.5 weeks later and there is still no refund issued. I have now disputed the charges with the credit card company, and purchased the equipment locally. Stay away from this company, while they appear to be attentive to resolve your issues. It is a bunch of smoke and mirrors to give the customer the run around.

I purchased 2 treadmills 4 years ago. I have had to contact them several times for parts witch took 5 months to get. I contacted them on 2/10/17 about needing the same parts again this time they told me that the company is no longer in service. I paid for the lifetime warranty when I purchased this from them. I talked to a manager named David and I asked him about all the parts that are covered for the life of the machines like belts frame and motor and his response is that can not service these because the company folded. There are always replacement parts around but they will not work with me to get any. How can they honor a lifetime warranty when they cant not even get the parts that at warranted.
Fitness Blowout Reviews & Complaints
I purchased a treadmill from fitnessblowout with a lifetime warranty on the deck, elevation motor and speed motors. Recently the treadmill stopped abruptly almost causing serious injury. A repair person was sent out who stated that the walking deck was warped. After 2 months the new deck arrived and I proceeded to use the treadmill. The repairman had not been gone 5 minutes when the treadmill stopped again. I called Fitnessblowout and they told me that the motors were not covered on my warranty even though I have an invoice that says otherwise. In fact they emailed a ‘copy’ of my original invoice which conveniently had that part of the warranty taken out. I can not get anyone to take my calls(steve Barzilai or jim rosen included) or return my emails. I have been trying to get this treadmill working for over six months. This is the worst company I have ever had to deal with!!! Do not purchase anything from them.

I really wish I would have read the thousands of negative reviews about this company before I ordered. I ordered an elliptical 50 days ago, paid in full at the time. I was told it would ship within 25 days. That didn’t happen nor did I receive any notification it would be delayed (which is a FTC violation…). It usually takes several days of calling and emailing to get a response from anyone. Finally after 45 days, I demanded copies of invoices to prove it was actually in the “process of remanufacturing” as I was told. I get the invoice which someone obviously just typed up to appease me. It did have the remanufacturing company on it, so I googled them and called them, Turns out Fitness Blowout never paid them until the day before, so thats almost 40 days from when I placed the order. I wonder when they would actually have paid the remanufacturing guy had I not made a big deal. Anyway the remanufacturing company representative was really nice and felt bad, I guess he hears this a lot about fitness blowout and is expediting the order for me. My advice for people in this situation: ask for an invoice early on when its coming from a remanufacturer and track it yourself, and to actually speak to someone in the company you have to threaten legally ortherwise they dont respond. Hopefully I’ll have my elliptical next week, we’ll see if it actually works.
