Purchased $4000.00 worth of leather couch’s and chair’s from Gardner White and purchased the additional insurance in case something happened later on. Within a month, the DYE started coming off the seat cushion’s where one would sit! I contacted Gardner White and they said it was a manufacturer defect and that I needed to contact the manufacturer. When I did this, the manufacturer said that I must of done something to damage the furniture. I informed them that all I have done was “sit” on the couch’s and they didn’t believe me. So, I contacted Gardner White again and told them that I wanted to use the insurance that I had purchased from them to get my couch’s fixed! They informed me that it wasn’t covered and again told me to contact the manufacturer for the defect. As you can see, this kept going back and forth with no solution to follow. I highly recommend you dont go to Gardner White because the products they sell are of poor quality and they won’t stand behind them. Also, don’t purchase their furniture insurance…..they don’t honor it! I decided that that it was cheaper to just replace the furniture then to take them thru the legal system….what a shame!

About 5 years ago now, I purchased an entire bedroom set at Gardner-White Furniture in Canton, Michigan. It is a nice looking pine bed with headboard and footboard. The mattress sits on 4-5 wooden slats that run across the frame all the way down the center. At the time of purchase, the salesperson didn’t inform us that we would be voiding our warranty if the frame didn’t have a center support. Actually, there was never any mention of a center support. And why would it be sold without it, if required, any way? Our mattress now has two indentations where we sleep on each side. The center does not sag. Also, we are not large people, not that it should matter of course. So far, we have had two inspectors come out. We were denied both times due to lack of a center support. This really makes no sense to me since the bed doesn’t sag in the center, but this is what they tell us. I have spoken to the Simmons sales manager of this region. I came to find out that he believed we had one of those metal frames which do require the center support. After informing him that we had the wooden frame with the wooden slats running down the center, he still denied us our claim. At first I figured there was nothing I could about this, and almost let it go– until I started shopping for new mattresses. That is when I learned that the center support issue is for the metal frames which only support the edges of the mattress. Our frame supports the edges, as well as having the wooden slats running across to support the center. This is probably why our mattress doesn’t sag in the center. And why didn’t Gardner-White Furniture in Canton. MI inform us of this issue at the time of purchase? Which reminds me- Bill Bonds (famous local news anchorman)- if you happen to read this- please quit doing these stupid commercials for this company-Gardner-White Furniture in Canton. MI . They don’t care about their customers either. You can’t need the money that badly… Any way, I am thinking of starting up my own website dedicated to the people whom have been denied a warranty claim based on some bogus excuses by Simmons. Some type of don’t buy a Simmons mattress.com site. Maybe if we can get enough people to boycott their products, they will change their minds about how they treat their customers. Any short clever names for this site will be appreciated. In addition I am going to look into starting a class-action lawsuit against Simmons, if I can find enough consumers whom have been wronged by this company. I think I will start locally, calling up the local news stations here in metro-Detroit. They seem to like going after companies who don’t honor their contracts. Well, I am starting to ramble on a bit now, but this really makes me angry. We need stronger laws in this country to protect the consumers. Bought a clock for a Christmas present. As it was the last one in stock, they wrapped it in stretch wrap after removing it from the wall. A week after Christmas we finally had time to hang it. Upon putting batteries in it, both the minute and hour hand turn at the same speed. I tried numerous batteries to the same result. I called to ask the return policy and was told it’s seven days which have elapsed as it was a present. They told me I could return it minus a 25% restocking fee even if it’s broken. Bought a set Of Leather couches and got them delivered to Canada for an extra 90 bucks! Got it home and it was damaged. Gardner white said no problem and made a second delivery…again there was damage to that set too!!! Damages were rips and scuffs and a couple of Manufacturer defects with stiching. So they made another delivery and again it wasnt perfect! Couchs had rips, a cut, and and the rips showed that its not all leather!!! The sales guy Salim And David told me at the time of purchase that it was ALL Leather front and back… they said that these couches are their CADILLAC Model!!! LIARS LIARS LIARS… BEware!!! Bought furniture at Gardner White in Warren, MI. They delivered it and the loveseat was ruined. A spot/hole in the arm of the couch. Called & told them. They had another one sent out over the next couple days. The delivery guys delivered it & took away the old one and then I caught the one delivery guy sliding my couch across my newly finished hardwood floors!!! Staples on the bottom of the couches scarred up my floor!! He tried to deny it but I saw him do it with my own 2 eyes and so he noted it on the work slip. I had to call the sales guy to complain & see how they planned to fix it. In the meantime, I go to attach the legs to my couch (no the delivery guys who were supposed to do this, did NOT) and come to find out there are 3, 3 inch screws that go into each of the 4 legs of the couch. There were not enough screws for either couches! The sofa was at least six short. I had to call again. Then someone named Jeff who claimed he from “corporate” called about coming out to “assess” the damage on my floors. He came out yesterday and proceeded to “fix” the scratches. Actually he made it worse!!! My floor looks like crap in all the spots he touched! I’m so livid that I just don’t know what to do! He said I had to sign the paper saying I was “satisfied” with the repairs to show he had spent an hour out there, so I did. Now I am left with more problems than ever. I don’t think they have plans to fix it properly or compensate me either. They all give me the run around about who I actually have to call for this or that. First, during the shopping trip, my friend and I were treated quite rudely. Especially after the sales person insisted I apply for the Gardner White credit card (which I already knew I would be denied due to credit issues). Well, he ran my credit, and just as I told him, it was denied. Right at that point, his whole demenor changed, as though we didn”t matter as customers anymore. I was approved for their other financing though. Once decision on whether I was going to make this purchase, was really how much the monthly payments would be. This sales person tried to tell me $181.00 per week for a year! That would make my total cost 4x”s what the actual total was. And he argued with me over it, making me feel like i was an imbecile. I should have just walked out at that point. But I didn”t. To make a long story short, after several -“just give me 5 minutes and I will take care of you” from the sales person, we finally made a decision on our purchase, and to give them a try anyway.. Big mistake!!! Sales person assured us that the child”s bed that we were purchasing, along with the dresser was all in stock and would be delivered next day, as we told him this was our final deciding factor. IF the bed was not in stock and able to be delivered the next day as promised, we were not making the purchase.. He did tell us that there was a part of the bed that was back ordered, but that he would send a metal frame in it”s place, free of charge for us to “borrow” until the bed rails came in. So. Delivery day – the only Thing dropped off was the metal frame and my fireplace/entertainment center!! Driver told my friend that everything else was on back order, and there was no timeframe on when it would be in, and that wasn”t conveyed to him until they were walking out the door when they were finished. I am seriously upset right now. called the store, and the excuse I was given was that everything was in stock yesterday, but when everything was being loaded on the truck this morning, everything was damaged. Really??? Why couldn”t anyone give us a call to tell us that? Not to mention they were supposed to call this morning to give us a timeframe for the delivery. Surprise, that didn”t happen either. The young lady I spoke to on the phone said she could refund me 1/2 the delivery charge…I don”t even know what to say to that. I can”t say that I will never shop at Gardner White again, because I have in the past, buying 2 complete king size bedroom sets, and I was very happy with the staff, and everything. That was a different location though. Right now I am just wishing I would have went with my instinct, and just went to that store instead. Very disappointed. All I want is the furniture I purchased, as promised in a timely manner. I don”t think any customer should be lied to or treated the way we have. It”s unacceptable.

Furniture Repair #1744 BC initiated in March 2019 Gardner White – you really need to review processes and procedures and better your customer service skills. Unfortunately, this is not my first bad experience with your company. I’ve had conversations with Lewis Armstrong before and just sent him a text message. My claim started in March of 2019. First and foremost, your staff could not update my phone number neither could they straighten out my address. I almost missed your employee by the name of Charles on April 13th because once again – Gardner White couldn’t correct/update my phone number. I should have known something was wrong when I didn’t receive a call the day before as I was told would happen. Luckily, my dog started barking like crazy and I went to the door. I asked Charles why didn’t he call and he said your number is disconnected. I said what number do you have – he read back a number that was over 3 years old. And…I had just spoken with the office earlier that week to make sure my information was correct. How many people does it take to update records? After this incident, I called the following Monday to complain and spoke with Christina. She was very nice and very helpful. She apologized and updated my information. Well, fast forward to today. I left several messages asking for an update regarding my repair once again. I called today spoke with Melody – who was quite rude. She told me that my part was ordered on 4-15-19 and that it will take 8 weeks (2 months) to deliver. When I asked to speak with one of her supervisors – Andy, Norman or Ethan, she stated neither of them are available. I asked what is the process for me to receive a call back? When do you think I will get a call back? She replied – she could not make any promises and that she would try to get them the message. Are you kidding me Gardner White? This is what you are teaching your staff and you think this is okay? How do I reach your Corporate Office? I have spent too much money in your store to be treated this way. Unacceptable. Hello, I bought several pieces from you over the past couple years, and recently made quite a purchase. I went to payoff the account in full before surgery (that left me completely bed ridden!), on Comentity”s website. They have a few selections, one is to pay the account in full. I picked that button, paid it in full, or so I thought. Little did I know ten dollars was still owed. it carried over 30 days unpaid and reported on my credit report as late. They won”t remove the late, despite the fact that I used THEIR button to pay the account off in full despite my claim to them that while if ten was owed that was fine, I paid. But to offer a feature to pay it off in full, and the account was still not paid in full, is unacceptable to me. That”s seven years on my credit, and now I have to fight it with a attorney while sick. Therefore I will no longer purchase anything from Gardner White and I will be letting many people know not to go through you for furniture. PS I also emailed three months ago, that my new table has a defective corner, one chair wobbles, and that you send me three extra lamps. No one responded. Hello. I purchased a couch, love seat and chair on June 27th from your Auburn Hills store. The furniture was delivered promptly and according to schedule on June 28th. I was very pleased and provided positive feedback based on my service at that time. Shortly after we received the furniture we realized that 1 of the USB ports on the couch was not working. I submitted a service call and scheduled service for Monday June 9th. We had to take a day off from work in order to make this happen. Nobody showed up. I called on Tuesday to figure out what happened. I was told that the appointment was never scheduled. Accidents happen and so I asked for a new appointment. I was told that someone could come out on Thursday July 19th. That was an unacceptable amount of time. I asked for the next day since surely the mistake of not showing up on Monday should be rectified as quickly as possible. Service calls are not done on Wednesday so we scheduled an appointment for yesterday Thursday July 12th. Another day taken off from work. The technician showed up within his allotted time and basically said, “YES, your USB port is not working but I don’t have the necessary parts to fix this”. That’s not a service call, that’s confirming what I had already reported. I expressed my frustration and the technician said, the parts I need are in the warehouse. This is a very easy fix. But, the parts will be shipped to you and then YOU get to call again and request yet another service call. The part should be there in about 2-4 weeks. I expressed my dissatisfaction. Couldn’t troubleshooting be done on the phone prior to sending someone out to my house? Couldn’t the tech have parts in his truck to try and close and resolve this case on the first trip? Shouldn’t there be a checklist when the furniture is delivered to make sure that the recliners work, that the USB ports work, that the couch is fit for function? Yesterday (July 12th) after the technician left, I received a survey about my satisfaction. I gave a 2 on that survey based on my dissatisfaction and provided similar details to the ones in this note. I received a note back from Gardner White absolving themselves completely and saying sometimes people have to wait 3 weeks for service calls to be fulfilled. And that ordering incorrect parts is an inconvenience for Gardner White. And sometimes parts get lost in the Gardner White Warehouse so they have to be shipped to the home. That’s just the way it goes. The couch is less than 3 weeks old. My confidence that any future issues are resolved is very close to ZERO. I put in a further call last night and suggested that the necessary part (again the tech knows how to fix this issue) is sent to my home overnight delivery and I can schedule an appointment for Monday (a 3rd day off from work). Again, working from the assumption that Gardner White would want to get this resolved as quickly as possible which is clearly not the case. The service agent I spoke to said she would have to call the warehouse to confirm part availability and get approval for overnight delivery and that she would call me back. That call back never happened. I don’t see a resolution to this issue. I would like the couch to be picked up from my house and a full refund to my credit card. I don’t want any further phone calls or back and forth or have to take additional days off from work. I simply don’t want the aggravation. Who do I need to speak with to make these arrangements. I bought a leather sectional sofa in 2008 and the sales guy recommended to purchase a leasther protection plan for 5 years. I purchased the plan. In 2009 I sent a request to Gaurdian who are supposed to send technician to fix a very small tear came took pictures and sent a letter back saying it is not covered as it is near a seam. In 2010 the first tear increased in size and a second one developed nearby so I sent another request in December 2010. A tech sent by Gaurdian leather protection plan came took pictures and said the company would call nad notify with in couple days. They called me and sid that the said sofa I believe is a leather grain sofa and it is not covered in their plan. I would like both Gardiner white and Gaurdian Leather protection company for deceiving me and not providing me service. I need a immediate reply on this.

I bought a set of side tables and center table from Gardner white. They gave me a cleaner to use. After 6 months, the wood started peeling off. When I complained, they said they are going to send a rep. to check. When the rep. came, even before he inspected the table, he started to blame that it is our fault. This is the stupidest reason I have ever heard. They mentioned the wood is peeling of because of over cleaning as if we do not have anything else to do. When I called up again, they mentioned that I should not have used the cleaner they gave when I bought the tables and asked me to complain to the cleaner company. No matter, what deal they have in their store, I will never step into their store in my life. All they do is provide false promises and cheat customers giving them high hopes of quality products.

I called in March 2019 rude lady Melody was told I will hear from the tech to schedule someone out to look at the couch and console fast forward a month no call I called FCP was told they haven”t received my information and will re-review it and put it on a managers desk fast forward another month no call called back and was told they switched companies and they don”t have any of my information I have to call the store I purchased it from, so I did they scheduled the tech out, my couch ripped at the seam and the bottom of the console fell out, its made out of plywood, the tech came and ripped open the bottom of my couch (which there is an access point to get to the console) left staples all over the floor broke the section of wood between the console and back of couch, was told he had to order the section that is ripped because he couldn”t fix it duh unless he can sew, was told they ordered it, it will take 6-8 weeks to arrive after waiting 4 months for them to come out, went up to Gardner white was told it will be delivered to my house, 2 weeks later FCP called and said it”s not covered.

I have had stellar credit on my account. I called on December 11th 2018 and spoke to a gentlemen because my payment was 1 day late. This gentleman said there was nothing he could do said to call next month once I received my statement to get waived. I called today January 22nd, (spoke to Rayesha and Sparkle) because I just received my statement today. I was charged 27.00 for a late fee and $2.00 for interest. (I paid off my bill on December 11th 2018) . Sparkle said they never waive fees nothing she could do. Said she pulled up my phone records and that I did not speak to anyone on the 11th of December only their automated system (not true). I did and was pretty much called a liar. She said they can’t waive fee’s . funny because on August 11th 2017 I called because of the same situation spoke to Susan and they did not charge me a late fee that day. I’m very disappointed in this service and am very upset. I asked to speak to someone else again and was left on hold. The problem is my son has been on the floor since february because either the wrong parts are being sent or they go to the wrong address. I initially put up my complaint on complaints.com but after seeing so many of them against Gardner White on this website, I thought I would add to the list. I purchased a top of the line Beauty Rest Mattress. Within 5 days of purchasing we realized how bad the mattress is. There are bumps and indentations all over the mattress. Initially we thought the mattress is built that way to provide more comfort, there must be a reason or technology associated for the bumps. But we soon realized there is no reason whatsoever -we approached Gardner white ,warren,Mi with in a week’s time (The place where we purchased the mattress around July2004) – to exchange the mattress as it was very uncomfortable to sleep on it . We were told there are no exchange or returns for mattresses. We really felt very cheated. With no choice available -we started sleeping on the same mattress thinking probably after a month we will get adjusted but after a month, I developed severe inflammation of the hip joint (I have doctors consultation receipts to support this statement) and my wife started having similar backache problems – because of the unevenness of the bed. Right now we are sleeping on the floor. We don’t have any of the back problems anymore. But is there any justice to this -every month I pay around 40$ to Gardner White towards the mattress and I will have to pay this till July 2007 and we get to sleep on the Floor. I placed six chairs in their layaway at the end of November. I added a chest piece the next month to the layaway. Both the salesperson and office people assured me that I could make payments every two weeks on merchandise til it was paid for, which I did. My payments ranged from 300 – 100 every two weeks. On March 20th the salesperson called to let me know that the furniture had been “dropped”. I have almost paid for all the furniture. The chairs had been selected by me because they matched my existing table and two tapestry head chairs that I already owned. The chest was selected becasue it matched my existing bedroom furniture. I am now told by the manager “Pam” that I can not receive a refund and must “just pick something else out.” Maybe Pam doesn”t understand that you just don”t pick furniture out that you don”t need, or that doesn”t match your existing stuff. I am now BEING FORCED TO BUY WHAT I DON”T WANT OR NEED. I DID NOT BREAK MY CONTRACT WITH THEM – I DID PAY ACCORDING TO THE PLAN. THEY ARE THE ONES NOW WHO CAN NOT GIVE ME WHAT I WAS PAYING FOR. I purchaded a sectional couch 2 weeks ago. Due to in unprofessional and complete wrong information I have been waiting almost 10 days to have my complete sofa delivered and re assembled. The initial delivery was awful because the gentlemen wouldvnot take the time to get it into my apartment so I had to order a diassemble. I was then told by Gardner White CSR I would be able to apply the cost of the disassemble to my new contract. That evening I was contacted by Symir a associate at the Grosbeck store and was told I had to come in and resign a new lease which would reflect the cost of thr disassemble. I go into the store. And was told a complet different story that GW used a 3rd party for disassemble and would have to pay for the service. I was not prepared to do so. Bit instrad of compromising in some way for being given wrong information, i was told to pay or return the furniture. The next day they come to collect the furniture but didnt not stay because yhere was a nother truck in the loading dock of my building. 2 days later I find out I am able yo pay for the disassemble with my debit over the phone I do so. Then am told i could recieve a late delivery Monday May 13th after 6. Once again I am given wrong information while at work I recieve a call that thr delievery man and disassemble team are at my apt building. I could not just up and leave work. I spoke with a associate at GW who told me she would arrange for the delivery. Only yo find out the disassemble team will kot come yo Detroit after a certain time. It is today Tuesday May 14th 1137 am i am still waiting for the diassemble team yo arrivr after I had been told they all would arrive at the same time before 10am.

I purchase 2 sofas, a chair and 2 ottomans almost 2 years ago. This has been a nightmare from the date of delivery. This was suppose to be a high end set and the only thing high end was the cost. I bought the extended warranty, stain protection as well. This set has been a total disappointment. The cushions are literally useless. It”s as if there are no cushions there. The wear and tear should be minimal because there are no small children in the house and I work 10 hours a day so how much wear and tear could come from that? I did contact the company and a serviceman came out. He said it wasn”t suppose to look or sit like that and he took pictures. He said I would be contacted by the claims department and that never happened. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves to sell such garbage, lie and take money like that for nothing. I am furious that I can”t entertain or watch tv in my media room because no one can sit in such discomfort and struggle to get up because of the flimsy cushions on the sofas. I feel if you honor and back your merchandise, the best way to make this right is to replace the set or give me a credit toward something else in your store. I don”t expect a refund, even though I deserve one. I need to take a few minutes and think about if this were you and how would you feel? Lastly, it is sad to know that this will not be a place that I would consider when I decide to purchase furniture again and because I have such compassion, I will tell and share with family members, friends and everyone that I know and don”t know of this horrific experience and not to shop for nothing at your stores. This is false advertisement and misleading customers which is wrong. So, do the right thing.

I purchased a $3000.00 Simmons Beautyrest mattress less than two years ago. It was the best one they had, according to the salesman. Now, like I said, less than two years later, one of the sides has completely collapsed! I”m talking like 3+ inches! the side is bowed out, and the matress is collapsing now. I called to have it replaced under warrantee (20 year manufacturers warrantee), and Gardner White refuses to do anything at all because there was a water mark on the mattress from my Son”s bottle leaking water. Apparently once they have “proof” photos from their technician that there was ever a mark on the mattress (even though I wiped it off, and it”s now completely gone), the warrantee is null and void! we have furnished our entire home from this place, and they can”t help us get a replacement under warrantee…? I am done with them… canceled my credit account, and am telling anyone and everyone who will listen to ever go there. It”s hard times out there, and most companies can”t afford to lose loyal clients, but apparently Gardner White doesn”t think they need to provide any customer service at all. Good luck to them… I certainly won”t be coming back in a few months when I have a new home to furnish!

I purchased a dresser that was advertised as 20% off. I have a gardner white card which have a credit limit I wanted use bottom line. The sales lady told me the dresser would be $ 588 free shipping after I got my bill and didnt see new charges added to it I had my daughter to bring me the paper work to the purchase of the dresser thats when I dont know what the hell Karen Mahone did but I end up paying more than original price. $779. + shipping iI would have come out a lot cheaper just puchasing the dresser on my gardner white card im very unhapoy with this discovery it wasnt until I had my daughter to bring the paper work to my house I never saw it I only heard the Karen Mahone say the dresser would be 588 and free shipping she even said the dresser would be deliveredcthe following day only for me to get back to the store and be told that they didnt deliver to that neighborhood after hours. I Purchased a leather Sectional in 2013 and everything was fine as I hardly ever go into that room. But, the other day I heard a noise and went into the living room and to my surprise both of the end recliners where up in the air. I tried to get them to go back down but to no avail they wouldn”t, so I visited the store where I bought them and ask for assistance as to how or where can I get a repair service to see about getting this fixed. I was told that they stop using this type of Motor in 2015. Now I understand that you no longer carry this product but but I know that I can”t be the only one with this problem! I am Eighty Four years Old and I don”t have that kind of Money to just throw away $5000, 00 . I just need a number to some kind of repair person who fixes the Motor to the Furniture that you sold to me!

I purchased a living room package on 1-2-2010. I also purchased and had explained to me the extra stain safe warranty. I told the salesperson many times over that I would be moving in a few weeks” time. He even told me to tell the delivery people about anything I did not want unpacked so that it would not get ruined during my move. Bottom line, he knew I would be moving. After purchasing the furniture and setting up a delivery date I was handed a folder holding my paperwork. Apparently, my warranty info was written on the inside of this folder, but the salesperson neglected to mention that any IMPORTANT info was on the inside of this folder (the warranty becomes void if the furniture is moved from original delivery address.) We moved a week or so later. There are a couple spots now that I have just noticed (after inspecting the furniture after moving), on one of the sofa cushions, that are thread-bare, and there is a large abrasion on the arm of the sofa. I contacted Gardner-white to find out what could be done about the defects in the fabric. I was THEN told about the warranty issue, and that it was not their problem that I did not realize my warranty info was written inside the folder I was given. They have been very rude, and in so many words called me stupid for not realizing the warranty info was written in the folder I was never told to look over. After contacting them the first time, I was told I could speak to a manager but that one was not currently available to take my call and I would receive a call back promptly. I waited an entire day, and had to call them back myself. The manager had even more of an attitude with me and told me that it is their policy that sales people do not, what-so-ever go over warranties with customers. I am being penalized for a sales person not doing a good job. It”s common courtesy and good business practices to cover IMPORTANT INFO with a customer upon making a big purchase. Had I known all this before setting a delievery date, I would have waited until I was moved to have my furniture delivered. I was also told upon my first call, that at a fee of $50 I could have someone come out and look at the damage to the sofa and that I would be charged regardless of whether the could fix it or not and any replacement parts would be my responsiblity for which to pay. Then I talked to the manager and he told me that, yes, they could order me a new sofa cushion at my expense, but I was out of luck with the arm of the sofa as they would have to replace the whole sofa to fix it and could not do that now because I moved. All of this could have been prevented if the salesman had done a good job in the first place and had told me there was important warranty info in the folder I was given. The rudeness and condescending attitude of the people that work at this furniture store are unbelievable. Everyone has an attitude. I know they were hoping I would not call back to speak with a manger because as soon as I gave my name and order number the tone of the voice of the person I was talking to became annoyed. I told her I wanted to speak with a manager as I was promised, and she still tried to lecture me. I finally got the manager on the phone and he had attitude with me immediately. Upon further research of this store, I have found this is a common issue with this place of business, and feel they certainly do not deserve an A+ BBB rating.

I purchased a mattress at Gardner White in August 2007. Within a month, the mattress sagged over 1+ inches…it actually was 1.25 and they finally exchanged it for another one, after many calls, much hassle, the salesperson never returned my calls. I specifically asked the sales person if this mattress would sag and he said NO…now that I have the new one, it has sagged yet again over 1.5+ inches. I only weigh 135 lbs. I have called them to send someone out yet again and they were supposed to be here this morning between 8 and 10 am. Of course, they have not shown up. I am disgusted by their rudeness, the lies of the salesman and their overall attitude once you have left the salesroom; I will neer buy anything from them again. EVER.

I purchased a mattress on April 30th. It was delivered on May 1st. After 5 days of tossing and turning I called to say I wanted to switch it out for another mattress. I was told I had to sleep on the crappy mattress for 60 days and then pay $289 to get a new one. I was never offered a technician to inspect it for defects. I have shopped at Gardner White over the years but I will never shop there again. I plan to contact my attorney as well as the BBB.

I purchased Emma 3 pk tables on July 3, 2019. I picked up the tables on July 5, 2019. The tables were damaged, they were on back order. I called the Finance Co. and told them I wanted to return the damaged tables and cancel my contract. The Finance Co. told me that the matter was between myself and GardnerWhite. I called GardnerWhite for 3 days consecutive . I told the Rep named Gwynn that I wanted to cancel my Contract and return the tables. I purchased furniture on 3/2i5/11. My bed broke on 3/13/12. I contacted the store, and service tech came out. Of course, he couldn”t fix it. His manager contacted me, stating it was broken because of a weight issue, basically explaining we weighed too much and broke it. (My husband and I combine maybe weight 400lbs) we spoke to Rick, who did nothing and wouldn”t replace te headboard, which split from the frame bc it is cheap ### wood. He wanted u to pay $120 to fix it. Spoke to Mrs Preston who was a flat out rude ### who claims she has no boss or anyone over her and said “well I can”t help what bed you purchased” are you kidding me!? Stand behind your product!! It didn”t even last a year!! I paid over a grand for it, your damn right ir better last more then a year! She argued with me and my husband, and told ud we could not contact anyone above her, that she was it. LIES. All we want is for your company to stand behind its product. It broke in less then a year and has never been moved. No help and ### furniture. Do not go there. It is cheap furniture and they will not help you!

I too have an issue as yet unresolved with Gardner White. My sofa is 11 months old and the cushions are totally flat. They can not be fluffed up. It feels like you are sitting on the frame of the sofa or the floor. The filling is a piece of foam with a little batting wrapped around it. There is not enough filling. Also, when using the arm rest you can feel the wood frame of the couch. It is very uncomfortable. I too had the unpleasant experience of talking to Ms. Preston and another manager. They had a fast talking guy come out and brush off our concerns saying there is “no manufacturers defect”. Sound familiar? There wasn’t even an attempt to resolve the issue.

I took my disabled brother to get a living room outfit and ended up buying a new sofa and reclining chair . After reviving my first set that was damaged it was replaced and several times when two people were onit if one got off I was thrown off !!! I called and complained several times and of course they sent out a tech and he witnessed it himself .. So they told me to come in and I could pick out something else I decided to pick real all leather Calvert suit with my salesman and I was reassured several times that it was all leather… Well after awhile I was cleaning the leather and noticed cracks and small tares in the sides and seams!!! I called my salesman several times .. Then I became very sick and was hospitalized on and off for the next two years during that time no one even used it but when I went to use it again I started to see more and more damage. SO I CALLED AGAIN AND AGAIN NO RESPONSE SO I CALLED THE MAIN NUMBER AND THEY SENT OUT A TECH AGAIN AND HE WAS SO HONEST THAT I ALMOST FELL OFF OF THE COUCH MYSELF… HE STATED THAT THE ONLY PART THAT WAS LEATHER WAS THT TOP THE SIDES ARE NOT AND THAT IS WHY ITS CRACKING AND WRIPPING UP … They called me to say that it would cost me to repair the pieces and fix the stabilizer bar in the chair… We don”t weigh over 175 in this house and I weigh 95 .. I AM GOING TO NOTIFY THE NEWS AS TO THIS ISSUE SINCE THEY SEEM TO THINK THAT I DONT DESERVE WHAT I BOUGHT… I DID PAY FULL PRICE OF $2077!!! THEY SHOULD BE ASGAMED OF WRIPING OFF CONSUMERS ON ADAILY BASIS…

I bought a couch from here and within two weeks the stuffing in the arm rests flattened out and a few weeks later the back cushions pulled away from the couch backing and there is a hole length wise between them about 4 feet long. You can see the staples and wood it was attached to.
Bought couches. They sent us heavily damaged ones - holes, stains, big chips in wood, forced us to pay them to pick them up, and waited 5+ months for replacements
Summary: Would absolutely NEVER do business with this company. They gave us damaged and used furniture, had us wait more than 6 months for replacement couches after they had told us it would take a few weeks), and as a remedy, they said “we can give you $80 back” on a more than $5,000.00 order. They, they forced us to pay another $130.00 for them to pick up their own damaged furniture. WOULD NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!

Bought two couches from here. They were significantly damaged and obviously used (big of chips in wood, stains on seats, holes in couch, and back not attached to frame). We went back and ordered two new couches in April. They were to come in May. In May they said June, June they said July, July they said August, and in August they said they don’t know when they’ll be delivered.
I called to ask them what the heck was going on. They forwarded me to corporate, who said that, for the damaged couches we can refund you $80 (5% of one of the couches). We bought more than $5,000.00 in furniture, got two heavily damaged items that were clearly used, waited almost 6 months, and were offered $80.00 to be quiet.
They then wouldn’t return our deposit. They needed to take out around $130.00 for “delivery fee.” On broken couches, they wanted us to pay for them to take them back.
Would never do business with this company. Very bad, and dishonest. Would do anything for money.
Never Purchase G.W. merchandise
G.W.delivered a sealy adj base when I bought a Serta. It arrived unbox and stopped working 2 days after it was delivered. A tech came out 4 days later. Thats when he told me it was a sealy. The bases are completely different in function but, cost the same. They refuse to refund my money…and the Serta is on back order. GW IS A CRIMINAL ENTERPRISE.
Warranty is a ripoff as well as the product. My chair has been under warranty and broken for almost a year. Take your business somewhere else. This review is very real. I’m a hard working truck driver in Milford Michigan and got ripped off by Gardner white and their bullshit warranty
