SO WHAT ARE THEY DOING WITH ALL THE DONATIONS TO HELP PEOPLE. Selling them, online yes. keeping the items for themselves yes, hording the gold and silver antiques yes, and just recently even the nicer clothes are being snatched out before they even get to the warehouse,how hypocritical let them know we are all on to them and will not tolerate the lies deception, dishonesty, corruption. Goodwill has become a corporate hut devouring all of the love intended to help our people, Let them know they have to change or disappear, like all the mom and pop thrifts they shutdown, not that they were much better. *Workload and responsibilities is unbearable, not getting lunches and/or breaks, having such a workload and the entire front of the store to work SOLO. *Morale of staff demolished bc of workload and never any appreciation. Always critical feedback. *Manager makes staff feel very incompetent and verbally reprimands in front of customers and other staff. *Manager devalues superior bosses to staff and undermines direction. Slanderous comments such as “Male chauvinist pig” and “He”s just an [censor]”. *Instructed to round up without customers permission. *Changing rules and expected operations almost daily without informing ALL staff creating confusion, frustration and low morale. *Gossip about staffs personal business being spread by manager to other staff members and others. *Lunch dates daily with specific staff. *SEXual harassment case was devalued and swept under the rug and complainant fired. *Staff are seeking other jobs. 7/23/19 at around 6:15. I was waiting to check out. The woman cashier went over to help the other cashier. She had called for assistance prior. A man came and started straightening clothes ha here. The cashier told him I needed to be waited on. The employee immediately goes over to a man standing by glass case and waits on him. I, as a woman, was totally ignored. I waited a few minutes. No one ever said another word to me. I left my cart full of items and the store. I then called the store to get a number to file a complaint. A man answered and introduced himself as the assistant manager. I explained what had happened. He was the man that ignored me. He said he couldn”t run me up on that cash register. He never acknowledged me. He kept talking and talking. I asked for complaint number 5 times. He finally gave me the number as 502-585-5221. He also added that this was crazy. I asked if he was calling me crazy. I explained to him by him blankly ignoring me and serving the man, he discriminated against me. I”m a RN, I don”t have to shop Goodwill. I also know how everyone is to be treated. I have gone into all the local Goodwills frequently. Really, I”ve never been treated so obviously rudely discriminated against in any Goodwill or any other store for that matter.

A friend and I visited the Goodwill store on 4353 Merle Hay Road in Des Moines, Iowa. Nothing was price! The only thing that was price is the wicker baskets and DVDs. It was frustrating shopping not knowing the price of anything. And the items that we did want to purchase they wouldn’t sell to us when we finally got to the counter because they didn’t have a price on them. So they wouldn’t even sell them to us. The store had plenty up close but almost nothing for miscellaneous nick-nacks. Seriously the Shelf 20 ft long we have three items on it or no items. So I don’t understand why they can’t have anything priced. It’s not like the place was pack out with merchandise. I was surprised at how bare it was. Which was why I was super surprised when I found out nothing was priced and then I was super duper surprised when they wouldn’t even sell it to us. The items were going to be two or three dollars. It just seems like they could have sold items to us for a fair price. Or just sold them to us period. None of the 9 items read wanted to purchase had a price tag on them. Not a single one. In a situation like that, it’s not the regular employees fault, necessarily. It is on the Manager to make sure those things are done whether they do it themselves or they will start the regular employee to do it. It’s the manager’s responsibility to make sure it gets done. And it’s the manager’s fault but it wasn’t done. Around 80% of the merchandise in the store was not price.

A woman & I both had our eye on the same piece of furniture, along with a few more customers. She beat me to it, making me 2nd in line for it. I hovered over her like a vulture in case she changed her mind & put the tag down. I had my husband watch while I shopped some. An hour & half later there is a page overhead for the person with the tag for that particular piece to come to the front. I watched & waited for the woman to come forward & she was no where to be found. I inquired & she had not put the item on hold nor had she paid for it. She just simply left the store, I told the day manager what happened & told him I was 2nd in line & wanted the cabinet. He said someone had left their name & # with Chris the store manager, he”d have to talk to her, but that he knew we waited a long time & he would vouch for us. he came back & said Chris was going to give the lady until this evening to come back with the tag. Excuse me, is it policy that a person can take the tag off an item, leave the store with it & not notify anyone about it & then come back later & get it???. Well of course that”s not policy, that”s Chris”s policy. This is total c*** I spend way too much time & money in your store to be treated this way! After an employee told me I could have 24 hours to return an item and receive store credit, this was found to be untrue. I went out of my way to return an iron which I did not need, rather I needed the board, honest mistake. But because an employee told me I had 24 hours to return the item I thought I could do just that. However even after making donations to Goodwill over the years and spending hundreds of dollars, they were unwilling to do that even exchange for the iron and the board. Clearly Goodwill does not stay true to their word. Even after explaining that I was just in here the previous day and had spent money and donated two bags of clothes I did not even want a refund all I wanted was an even exchange for the six dollar purchase I had made. I will no longer be shopping with Goodwill they lost a lifelong member.

Prevuiosly, They did remove her from the Bridgeport store for stealing and selling to lesser quality people for practically nothing. Then they put her in a richer section for her to steal. date of incident = 10-3-2018 Complaint against = manager name Gina Address = Goodwill Lake Joy, 1111 kathleen highway 96 GA 31047 I”m a common customer. I usually don”t have time or don”t like to try on clothes until I go home. I went there this weekend (sept-30-2018, Sunday). I paid $105.72. I went home and notice there”s a couple items i didnt like or didn”t fit or defect. The manager, Gina, look at the items and take it to the back of the store to verify the inventory. I was like “really”. Note: I had a return with her once before. she said there”s no way she can verify the short that i”m returning was from her store because there”s no tag. Well when i bought the short there was no tag. The cashier told me if no tag then its gonna be full price. She didn”t give my short a tag just in case i need to return it. If she can go back there to verify if the items are from her store why didn”t she help me with the short that i previously wanted to return. I ended up didn”t get a return from the short so i just took it home.as a matter of fact it still in the trunk of my car. i dont know what to do with it. And i had an incident with her again this time. this time she brought my items back and CHECK.I feel like she”s discriminating me/us. Oh, I”m asian. I had to call the headquarter right after I get to my shop to complain but they hadn”t return my called. but i”ll keep try because i like that store and I don”t want to not be able to go there anymore. but i can”t keep get treating like this everytime i have a return item. I called the cashier that help me out to hang up all the items. I”m not that cheap. I can do donation. I don”t need those items to be return anymore. But Gina treat me very low. Date of Incident June 14, 2016 I am a regular customer of the Goodwill store located in the St. Lawrence/Mt. Penn area. I frequent the store almost every day. On this particular day I was purchasing items out of the bins in the back area. As I was walking back to the glass and book section I noticed that there were plastic bins on a pallet. I took the large bin all the way up to the cashier and asked how much the plastic bins were. I was informed that they were $2.00 each. I then asked if I could leave the current one at the cashiers desk while I went to get the other two. I then (now not that this matters to anyone at Goodwill, but I have a torn rotater cuff so bringing these large bins up was quite an effort), brought the other two up and finished up with my items in the bins. As I was coming up to check out I was told by an extremely rude manager named Liza that there was no way I was getting the bins for $2.00 each. She said her employee had no right to tell me the price. She then went on and on about how she discovered all kinds of problems with her employees over the weekend and what they were doing wrong!!! In a very “in your face” attitude. She just kept getting louder and louder and ruder and ruder!!! I finally said “Okay Liza, shut the hell up”. At this point I was beyond mad. This was so unprofessional. I have a store of my own. If one of my employees ever gave a customer a price and it was incorrect, I would honor the price either way. Then have a talk with the employee!! She then “threatened” to call security and have me escorted out of the building. I asked her for what and she said I cursed at her. I refused to leave and just at that point had to let the bins go because she was causing a scene!! This particular Manager Liza has been rude since I have started coming to the Goodwill two years ago. There are many complaints around me with the “regulars” how rude she is. She has called the customers “animals”!!! I have also seen and heard how awful she treats her employees. Most of the employees that work there are young people that may be working for the first time in there lives. A manager like her should never have been promoted in the first place. She”s MEAN!! There are two extremely professional and friendly workers at this GW. I only know their first names, Kelly and Brad. They are both kind and considerate workers. They do not treat the customers like they are “animals”!! I also have one last complaint. The prices on the furniture are ridiculous!! I have seen the prices rising and rising over the past year. These items are donated by someone thinking that these items are going to a needy family or person. This should be Goodwill prices not retail prices. This is a company getting Greedier and Greedier by the month. I am disgusted at the prices and the way the management treats their employees and and customers. Every Thursday they have $1 day. Only at this location, each week they pull the $1 color tag of the day. Not only do they pull them, they do it right in front of you and do not allow you to even look at the merchandise they are pulling. This is happening right when the store opens at 9 am every single Thursday $1 day. Plus they have the racks on wheels and carts of pulled tags right in the middle of the aisle so you can”t even walk through to see what little merchandise is left. I have complained to the manager, employees, and now corporate, and they have done nothing to stop it. This is false advertising at its core. They have told me they do it to “make room” for new merchandise but their racks are almost barren so this statement is completely false. Plus they have all week to “make room”. Why are they doing it at the beginning of the sale day and pulling all the sale tags? They are clearly trying to get people in the door with $1 day special, but advertising falsely because all the color $1 tags of the day have been pulled. This has been going on all year and my complaints have fallen on deaf ears. I have a disability with extremely low income and my father is a war veteran. We are loyal customers so we look forward to getting these deals but we simply cannot when they do this.

You’re correct to say that Goodwill advertising a “$1 color tag sale day” while pulling anything and everything that matches the advertised item is outlawed, illegal, and a scam. It’s classic “bait-and-switch” to lure unwary shoppers into their stores. It’s also illegal for Goodwill retail to post one price in the store and ring up a higher price at the register. The claim that it’s a “charity” does not exempt Goodwill from state and federal regulations designed to keep retail markets safe from unscrupulous business operators. Such practices not only harm consumers but they harm competing retailers as well. Operating as a “charity” does not license Goodwill to scam its customers. Many Goodwills use UPC bar code labels which are higher at the register than what is advertised in print on the display racks which is a violation of federal FTC regulations. Then too, a consumer complaint submitted to the local business licensing authority may not bring immediate action but when the file gets thick enough there may be a meeting of the minds when it comes times to renew Goodwill’s local store business license. When you see a newspaper article or a TV news report on how wonderful Goodwill is, take the time to contact the reporter and fill them in on the sales stunts and rude behavior exhibited by Goodwill employees. Sadly Goodwill itself will blame its employees and managers for its practices but as noted in this string of postings: a call to Goodwill corporate is met with indifference and denial; any legitimate business would root that type of behavior out of its organizational structure for fear of losing local customers being driven off by shady practices. I’m told that one of the prompts for Goodwill opening “donation centers” is because in-store shoppers are aware of the shenanigans and don’t support neighborhood stores with donations. Get this! This guy that worked for Goodwill had a fire which resulted in a total loss. He came to work with no shoes on. He was sent home and received a writeup for showing up at work dressed inappropriately. He asked for clothes until he got paid and was refused. Also the employees were instructed not to give him money or anything. That tells you what kind of people run this place.

Goodwil in Newmarket, ON, Canada have a terrible manager(male).He is always rude this clients(never sad a HI), bad organzed (always mess on c?unter), many clouthes don’t have a tag but then you go to pay (think price is 5.99)cashier take hight price – just asked manager (24.00can)it is very FRAUD !!! He told me it is a new product but how I can know this… it is not tag and letter. I think this store NEED A NEW MANAGER as soon is possible or people will go away. I hope a servise wll be better soon !!

Goodwill Frankfort IL. Ban Bec I reported certain managers stealing at the Frankfort IL Goodwill. Fat Daniel and short ugly Katherine. Do a lie dector test on them and watch the results. New manager Lauren came in like a army drill . Screaming at everybody PL with sense left. They placed a false police report on me trying to get me locked up. Said I been to the store on Dec 19 2019. I haven”t been to that store since November not trying to go back. Katherine when she was on maternity leave use to come in get a suit case of Carter infant clothes and had some one signing in like she was working. Fat Daniel was changing tags and hiding merchandise and help stealing for certain members all on camera and I”m ban. LMAO. Fat coon Celina Davis was in on it as well as a lot of top. All good donations was being stolen and resold on aution sites and other sites by certain managers Daniel Katherine include. Store went down very bad once Kevin left. Goodwill industries or thrift inc.. has become the biggest rip off and perpetration on the poor working class people of the Western, and from what i understand the Eastern United States. I witnessed them putting stuff to the side to be sold on the good will website. They take any and all things worth value and horde them away for profit for the owners. Please do not buy anything from the stores and if you do be sure to let them know you are on to them as well stand together of fall apart. This is nothing new, they have just stepped up the corporate greed factor by 10 recently as of early 2014 it has become known that they lie to the people who shop there and donate hoping the donations will help those less fortunate, make no mistake the contributions only serve to fatten the pockets of the owners of the establishment. Never giving back anything to those who could really benefit from the help. What the company has done is jack up prices, security and profits for the greedy bosses. They have what i like to call Licker”s in the back rooms and donation spots who not just visually inspect each item google it to find out the value and then horde it away for the website or wherever else it may go to fill the pockets of the soulless owners. The reason i call them lickers is the inspections go far beyond just glancing at an item then deciding weather to put it out or steal it away for greedy fat loathsome owners, the lickers are encouraged to lick each item and really taste it for worth. That part may seem like a bit much, but it is not far from the truth. I can just see them back in the donation area just licking, each and every item for value. Rolling around in old clothes, underwear, toys, and old bedding, like the filthy dogs that they are. Wake up people you are being ripped off by the very people who”s name is supposed to mean something special, One of the crazy irony”s is that these lickers as i call them gain nothing by greasing the disgusting people who command them to do the bidding, Look around next time you are in one of the locations, which if you have not noticed are more numerous than Starbucks these days, Who needs FEMA camps when they got the masses scrambling around for scraps of the leftover filth from Goodwill lickers back there just licking away at silver gold beautiful old glass porcelain, antiques they even take any of the clothes worth money now to sell themselves for huge profit leaving old target as is pallets they buy by the ton to sell to the poor for 6.99 for a pair of shorts that are not worth 2 bucks and did not sell at Kmart for 3.99 suggested MSRP. Do your homework, scam report do not take it lying down. I hope you all petition for them to shut these places down like Goodwill has done to almost every other Thrift Store around how can they survive with this leviathan out there gobbling up every thing good left about the will of real people we need to kill the beast before it kills us. You used to be able to go there and find some decent things to have in your home if you did not have the money or to sell yourself for a little extra food money, get a few decent pieces of clothing to feel better about yourself no more…

Goodwill is not a Not for profit organization Where does it help people?? The color of the week and the prices of these stores have become ridiculous. I myself have donated items that didn”t sell at my yard sale. I went into the Smyrna DE store and found the item I donated with my marked tag of 25 cents and they had it marked for $4. Didn”t even bother to take my orig tag off of it. They didn”t know it was the item I donated. It was a small food storage container. I asked them about it and the employee ripped my tag off and then I told her I was the one who donated it and how can they justify selling a small under one dollar item for 4?? Another thing that happened on their 50% sale on Jan 1. An employee gave her husband a brand new in the box Royal Daulton China set. She marked it. $2.00 so he paid $1.00 I witnessed this with my own eyes. She made no bones to hide the fact that the man was her husband. I was in the store when they opened at 9am and no where on the shelf or in the glass case was this set. I saw her go in the back office and bring it to him. I was standing behind him in line. I was also told that the night before these sales, the employees let their families and friends in and fill their carts with the items that aren”t put out for the general public. Then let”s talk about the color of the week. No where in the store will you find anything that is marked with that color. All items they are putting out will be marked in red. When red wk comes around, you got it, blue marked items come out. Goodwill isn”t a not for profit organization. They don”t help any one in need. They make up prices as they go along. I can buy new clothes at discounted prices with tags still on them at reg dept stores. The CEO of Goodwill collects a salary and a bonus. This can all be proved. I would rather give to those that truly need the items than to give them to Goodwill. Oh another thing, you have to know someone to get this. For the past few wks of Jan 2016 if you donate items, not only are u supposed to get the receipt for taxes if you want, BUT they have 50% off coupons that are valid until Feb 2016. How did I find this out?? Well, I went into a goodwill in Dover, DE and got to talking to an employee who told me about it. I had just dropped off some stuff for my boyfriend and I wasn”t doffed this coupon. When I confronted Smyrna about it, the woman said she never heard of it and would ask her mgr. 5mins later she said oh it doesn”t start til the following week. I seen employees make up prices and the price list on the signs don”t make any sense at all. Why are bridal gowns that are used and dirty and in bad shape marked $150??? You could go to David Bridals and get a brand new one for that and less. Now, I see why you can”t find nice things at Goodwill any more. I just stumbled upon their auction site. I”m not the only one who was clueless about this site and it”s a frigging scam. Every item has a handling fee of 5 or mor bucks?? Seriously and then the shipping. Fed ex only?? I”m done with them. I was a good customer till I witnessed all this stuff at this and other DE location stores.

They tarnish laundry co-workers reputations, They let laundry managers and laundry supervisors get away with bad things that they do to good laundry co-workers!!! They turned Goodwill Laundry into an unsafe work enviroment from 2005 to 2015. Me, Willie Ward and Eskiel Collins worked there for 25 years and they let us go. They made an unsafe enviroment for the Asians, Chinese, Koreans and Hmongs and got them laid off in 2015.Stay away from Goodwill Laundry in Milwaukee, Wisconsin because they ain”t worth working for in the future!!!

Goodwill Security be harassing, picking on co-workers and making co-workers uncomfortable.A friend of mine Reginald Bolden who worked with me in Goodwill Laundry every time he bring his lunch to work, he put it in the refrigerator inside the cafeteria, When it comes lunch time.his lunch be gone, Goodwill Security be stealing his lunch.Goodwill Security came in the laundry breakroom looking for their lunch.Goodwill Security checked to see did Fredrick steal their lunch.Frederick did not steal their lunch.Because Frederick eat his lunch after his shift is over, During lunch break Fredrick smoke a cigarette.Two days after this incident Goodwill Security talked to Orangetta the Laundry Manager about their missing lunch. They called Reginald in the office and talked to him about their lunch, Orangetta sent Reginald home early that day.Reginald told me that they was sending him home early because the security”s lunch was missing.On my day off of work, He got fired from Goodwill Industries for eating the Security Guard”s lunch.Goodwill Security is full of ###!!! Goodwill Stores has been selling faulty electronics knowing that they are no good, thet constantely put them back on the shelves to resale. Goodwill knowingly that these products are no good they still put them out there for you to purchase, and their return policy is that you must return a non working product back to the store within 7 days..BUT you can only make changes with electronics items, which takes me back to the original complaint, that you will still end up with a non working electronic item. This is how they make their money, it is an illegal tip-off and no one does anything about it…You go into one of their stores to purchase a VCR, there is no way to check it out, and the clerk tells you it has been tested (which is a lie) you take it home, you try to use it, it dosen”t work, you bring it back, they tell you you can change it for only electronis, which none of them are worth a dime, so you lose your money, because everything you try, it dosen”t work, and they take that same VCR that you had returned, the put it right back on the shelf for sale. If I don”t get some results from you here, I am filing a civil complaint against Goodwill Cooperation. I have spent so much money and time trying out your products and none of them work, and it is about time somone take a bigger step to stop this ripoff. Charles Sutton

Hello my name is Linette Lopez. I got home from work last night october 11th at 8 at night and headed to goodwills on malabar road because my kids needed halloween costumes for today for school. Cashier name is judith s. And the terminal id is POS 5248_3. I got a pair of gloves that the cashier said they were 2.99 but charged me 4.99 for them. A pair of glasses for 4.99. 2 capes for 3.99 each. A dress for 4.99. And another cape for 3.49 which she charged me 3.99 for it. A crown for 1.99 which she scanned twice. Butterfly wings for 4.99. 3 cigarette holders for 2.99 each. 3 hats of the same one was marked at 4.99 the other one was marked at 5.99 but she didnt mark that price she marked 2 for 12.99 each. Its sad how people take advantage. I ended up paying 75.82 when the total was suppouse to be 51.37 plus tax. I noticed when i got home. It was too late to go back it was closed already. And the saddest part is that the costumes were for today and my kids were excited already so i wasnt going to let them down. I have the receipt and the tags. I dont know if i can do something about it. Thank you in advance.

Hello what is this, I went looking for purse I want it that one display the manager said it was not for sale, I told her so wat she put it up for .had a price .I thought everything in goodwill was for sale since people gives them wat they don”t want anymore, one of the workers said that when the manager gets ready to put it for sale, that it was up to the manager, I really think she want it for her…that is not right, you go there thinking u will find, and buy it with no hassle, she was very rude I would not shop there anymore thay should really appreciate that people donates, they should sale everything in a reasonable price, , , not a regular store…:(

Hello, I am very angry because I went to one of your centers in Wilmington, Ca and asked for the senior discount and the cashier pulled out her paper that said that you must be born before 1949/1950 in order to qualify . I said I”m 65 she said it doesn”t matter we don”t recognize it. I say you are full of it… you claim to hire people with disabilities and yet you discriminate against the elderly who are the ones on a budget and are your clients. Please I would like for you to consider your policy and give people starting at 55 the privilege of getting a discount.

Hello, It seems that I have to go to these drastic measures, hopefully at this point someone could do something over there.I spend over$ 500-1700 a month at local goodwills.I buy& donate to shelters& dress for success women”s programs. love the people.But this manager “Lily”is an absolute bully to her staff& customersAnd accuses many of stealing& having customers followed because of there skin color.When its her days off the store has a calm& inviting vibe.Its a shame that because of this Woman, myself& others will no longer be shopping at The Goodwill at 7211 Boulder Av.Highland ca.I hope something will be done in this matter very soon.Thank you for your time.

Hello, Some of the sites do a great job of protecting pieces when they are packed for shipping, but far too many are terrible. I have had many pieces arrive with damages which were caused by improper packing–NOT by careless handing by the shippers. One of the most common problems is binding packing materials too tightly around delicate projections on statuary pieces or carvings. This places too much pressure on that area causing it to snap. Sometimes multiple fragile items are dumped together in a nest of bubblewrap with nothing to cushion them from jostling against each other inside the package. Once a large group of expensive dolls were stuffed together inside a small hat box damaging headpieces and badly crushing historical outfits. One carving arrived in a box too small and a piece was protruding through the side of the cardboard box used for shipping. Another time I received the wrong item entirely. My order was sent to someone else. I had to return the piece I received and wait for the other customer to return my piece. When what I had ordered actually arrived, it had damages not present when it was originally posted. All of the broken pieces were not even in the box. While in most cases, I have been reimbursed for my purchases that does not make up for the disappointment or the diminished value of the item needlessly damaged. Most customer service representatives are polite and prompt in responding, but that is not always the case. I would much rather pay the agreed upon price and receive the purchase in its advertised condition than receive it free but damaged sometimes beyond repair. Clearly packing staff in all facilities need to be properly trained. All of the bubblewrap and packing peanuts in the world will not protect a piece from mishandling in the packing process. Hello…this is regarding the Goodwill Ind Of Fort Worth…Fort Worth TX 76119…i corresponded with customer service and packing of item since it was electronics and heavy but delicate. I was reassured item would arrive safely. Item was lightly packed and destroyed. I asked for a refund and was told to send dimensions of box etc. and ship it back. Why? it”s junk now. I have been a customer going on 3 year”snow and the service is getting considerably worse in the shipping department so much so i”m considering quitting the website and shopping with Goodwill…i can”t keep paying for busted item”s through negligence or incompetence.It”s no fun shopping and winning bid”s putting out good more and having it destroying in transit. Hello: My mom and I have been going to your 350 Fairview Ave Hudson NY store for 15″years. My mom is on a fixed income and i am disabled on a fixed income. I have 2 kids and struggle feeding and clothing my family and that is why I go to your store. To save EVERY penny. On august 30, we went into the store and noticed RITA was working. RITA has a tendancey to have a short fuse with customers. We have seen this with other customers and she has been short with us in the past as well. My mom was buying $15. shoes and thought they were half off. When my mom realizes they were full price she couldnt get them. I told my mom i would give her half the money so she could buy them, Rita got extremely MAD. She slammed the shoes down on the counter and said to my 80 year old mother” do you want them or not..!!!”. This is just unacceptable to treat an 80 year old woman this way. THEN rita said the bill was 14.99 and im gonnnamround it up to $15.00. my mom ( on a fixed income, who comes to the store to save every penny) said ” no thank you i dont want to round up.”. Rita sighed and shook her head in disgust. So you think this is terrible..??? now it”s my turn. I had a hat for $4.99. Rita said to me.. ” i”m going to round YOUR order up to $5.00 . I said no thank you. RITAthen says(infront of a line of other customers). ” it”s just a [censored]ing penny..!!! my mom and myself, my wife and her sisters and all of our children all go to the goodwill to buy my clothes and school supplies, etc for 15 years. We will not go back to be harrassed by one of your employees. If someone doesnt want to round up, they shouldnt be humiliated infront of a room of other customers and that is what RITA did to me, “my two children and my 80 year old mother. My mother was so emmbarrassed she said she never wants to go back and started crying when i got her into the car. This was straight up harrassment and completely humiliating and unacceptable. its bad enough to do this to me( a disabled american) but to do this to a 80 year old mother is just the worst of the worst.

Here it goes I can not belive that the Goodwill stores get so many people for theft when they sell pure junk from unwanted donations from people and they turn around to sell it to the public for a lot of money.This is a big scam going around for many years already someone has to stop this action has to be taken on these Goodwill stores and close these stores for ever and arrest these people who ever they are it is not fair for people who are in need poor or disabled to be paying a fine just for getting donated stuff out of the store not in the store.This is for everyone that sees this complaint they scam everyone by taking their money in a decent way to their pockets and getting richer everyday and the poor getting poorer everyday.SO who are the thieves we are or they are in my opinion they are cause they don”t even help anyone like the salvation army does remember everyone they just want U ALLS money in their pockets Scammers.

Hi everybody I am writing this review just for the benefit of every body that may be using these fraud companies in the future, and to be wary of them. Absolutely horrendous service. I sent items through them 6.5 months ago from Qatar to India, and I was told that it would reach in 2 months. But I only received the items just a week ago!! (SIX AND A HALF MONTHS!!!) Kept sending them emails, calling their offices, with no avail. Horrible customer service, and the people in Qatar gave us a contact number in India, who was horribly rude, and started cursing us, when we asked what the status of the cargo was. DO NOT EVER USE THEM! I hope that the Qatar Government does something to shut them down completely. I really thought that I wouldn’t see my items ever again, and it was delivered in hopeless condition! Do not ever give them money! And do not entrust your goods to them. Rude and totally unprofessional!

Hi my name is Sabrina Reef I am a mother of two children and as a single mother of two it is a blessing to be able to shop at affordable prices for my children. As of now I am no longer able to step foot on the premises due to no reason even given.. I am in despair and have been in shock for this in the last year and a half. The situation as I understand was a female co worker that use to be married to my boyfriend, jealousy issues is a reason to make me and my children go without.. Isn”t there a time and place for the way we hold are selves as a adult.. Now to my acknowledgment this person name of Crystal Stough no longer even works at this location. I am just asking if I can be off restrictions and able to appear as a normal person and not looked upon for anything that is not of my control . I was completely respectful and it would be easier in this small town to shop at the goodwill industries of Fort Morgan Colorado. I agree with the complaints posted. I was employed by Goodwill in SC for several years. It was a hostile work environment, filled with bullies. Everyone appears to be out to get someone else. The corporate office was aware of the situation, but did nothing to resolve it. Goodwill breeds an atmosphere of distrust and fear, as they constantly insinuate that you will lose your job. In this economy, everyone wants to keep their job, even a crappy job like that. The managers are told to distrust the staff, but the managers can”t even trust their own DMs or the corporate office. They hire you to manage a store, but they won”t allow you to manage it. They micro-manage from a distance and they watch you constantly on camera. They expect you to work every day, on salary, with no assistance and it is inferred that failure to do so may result in the loss of your job. Goodwill only hires disabled people in order to receive government funds. They are paid based on a “formula” they use, often below minimum wage. These people are nothing more than dollars because Goodwill receives government funds for each disabled person they hire. Goodwill says they are helping people, but they are only helping themselves. Those at the upper management levels get paid insane wages, drive company vehicles, and spend their time finding ways to harass those below them. There is an incredible waste of resources within, as well. Tons of usable donated items are thrown away daily in order to make room for more free “donations”. There is internal theft, but they don”t prosecute. It”s as if the staff can steal daily with no repercussions, but the managers are held responsible for the actions of the employees. They spend millions on security equipment to watch their managers, but often give employees a 1% annual raise (i.e. $ .07 a year). Really?! They also have a voucher program, designed to provide clothing to those in need–another way they “help” the community. What a joke! Each voucher is considered a sale and Goodwill is paid for every piece of donated goods. They choose who receives the vouchers, as well. It isn”t necessarily based on “need”. Their job link centers are there to justify giving their friends high paying positions. Their basic function is to provide a presence and allow the public to use the computers. Resume assistance is sometimes provided by participants sent by programs which place older individuals back into the workforce and pay Goodwill for the experience. Everyone must sign in upon arrival. This gives them “proof” of how many people they”ve “helped” in any given time period. The only people who seem to receive any “help” are friends and family members that are placed in high paying positions at the local military bases, which Goodwill also staffs. Yes, they have their hands in a lot of pockets. Yes, they treat their employees shabbily. Yes, they are wasteful. No, your donation and/or your purchase is not helping anyone except Goodwill, a multi-million dollar corporation. I could go on, but won”t. Leaving there was such a relief!

I am a current employee of Goodwill in Stamford, almost an hr into my shift I was told I was learning to sort and once she went home I had to finish sorting merchandise, I spoke to my manager Ellen in the office and just explained to her that I didn”t feel comfortable working in sorting because of bedbugs problem, she says ok I can go back in the floor to recover for the rest of the night but she had to tell another manager (Karla) that I didn”t want to sort. 5 mins later I get called to the office and was told I had to go home because I didn”t want to sort, that was rude, and very unprofessional it”s not fair that I got sent home because I”m worried about my safety I am not the only one who complains about bed bugs and it”s not fair of the way she treated me and sending me home because of the conditions the store is in.

I am a frequent customer of the Goodwill in Foothills, AZ. I tend to shop there for items for my classroom and for my students to use as rewards. In a few occasions I have observed that some people (of white ethnicity) have asked the manager for a manager’s discount and they have received it. I was not aware of such discount so I waited until the person getting the discount was done and I asked them what was the discount for. They responded that all I needed to do is ask the manager for the manager’s discount. I went back to where the manager was standing and I asked her if I could get the manager’s discount; at that point the manager gave me a harsh look and stated she could not do that. She said, I can’t give you such discount.” I then inquired about the previous people who had gotten a discount; the manager stated that she had not given them any discounts. I proceeded with my purchases and did not want to think the manager was discriminating against me since I was Hispanic. Two hours later I came back to the store with one of my co-workers (another teacher), I had her ask the manager for a manager’s discount, and to my surprise, this manager gave my co-worker (the teacher who is white) the manager’s discount. To me that is pure discrimination. I could not believe I was actually being discriminated due to me being Hispanic. I was very disappointed and still in disbelief. I wanted to test this once more to make sure I was not exaggerating. Unfortunately, I was not. This manager is a racist person, she discriminates against Hispanics. I saw a lady shopping in the store and I asked her if she would be willing to ask for the manager’s discount. I explained my theory to this woman so she cooperated by asking the manager for a manager’s discount. Of course the manager told her “No, there is not such thing” and walked away. I was in complete shock and my theory was not a theory but a fact. I hope that this is looked into since it is a serious matter. After these incidents, I paid close attention on how the manager interacted with Hispanics, and sure enough, she is rude, disrespectful, unprofessional, and Anti-Semitic. Thank you,

I am a recent and now former employee of Goodwill located in Hudson NC. This establishment has at it”s core management even reaching district management, which allows disrespect towards employees to even customers. I am a former employee of Goodwill in Hudson NC. And recently quit due to the awful state of this business. From a neglectful manager always behind on her responsibilities, to the theft of merchandise during and after hours and the blaten disrespect the store manager has for her Employees to even customers.. pricing and placement by management wrong and misplaced then blamed on employees and especially myself. I myself would be blamed for mistakes and mis-pricing even when she created these mistakes as it seemed just to come down on me and others, as she thinks management means only a negative enforcement on myself and others. This business has many things not done properly and must be taken care of properly as noone seems to listen to myself as an employee or even after . Even safety requirements, covered against walls, not enforced or even the safety guide and protocols manual never printed or shipped to the store and management allowing or even enforcing shirt cuts which has and will again allow damages to product, the store and yes employees and on 2 occasions even customers cut and bleeding, luckily they did not want to sign the incident report. Still not ethical or in procedure of how this establishment should be run and something must be done to maintain a SAFE and PROPER business. I recently quit as I was the only male working there and often blamed for Soo much when others even management created this issue to start with. This “Manager” often on her cell phone, leaving to eat almost 3 times a shift and yet telling employees not to accept a call and especially when it”s an Emergency ? I had to twice walk off the floor for an emergency call from my son and still spoken down to in a condisending manner. In tolerable this establishment and “So called” management was and surely still is. This is not what you should stand for or in fact any business would have ended such awful practice at first sign of negligence. I had to leave this location before another empty lie or manipulation was created to harm me and in doing so my life and my son. One large issue addressed before I was hired and voiced as a concern was my scheduling as I am a single father with noone to watch my son and this so called store manager would purposely schedule me leaving my son alone at home and at 12 years of age he is capable tho this was and is unacceptable. Many times things were manipulated to deem me unsatisfactory when I worked faster then each employee there, efficiently and correctly from pricing to placement. The women there were very unprofessional often bringing there problems at home to work and taking it out on the company and employees. As I”ve said I was the only male there and often other employee”s / women, would have troubles at home with significant others then carry that with them even pushing there problems on myself as if to generalize men and there problems onto myself. Frequently I was made to work the product trailer whole shifts because “so called” management “Carrielle Duke” ordered trailers at wrong times, forcing trailers to be finished at inhuman rates of speed or not ordering trailers at the proper time either, I assumed it was my job description when it WAS NOT! senior employees voiced there concern as to why I was working the trailer for 6 hours and ALONE because in there experience had never seen someone made to do the work I was doing especially alone. This location has many problems and they run down the ladder from management. As a former manager the short cuts, the manipulations and lack of training for employees is unacceptable, should not be tolerated and can simply be proven by checking the surveillance system and asking employees. I enjoyed my job tho a low level employee we should still have a voice and this was not the case when I was employed. Honestly I”m without work because of this place and what has been left unchecked and with what I”ve witnessed and been subjected to it worth legal action. Any sane rational individual would do as I did and quit such an awful place of work. I looked for a reason to love my work and enjoy my job, not just like the money I”m payed, which wasn”t much considering what I was made to do and even endure. Doing my time and getting out was what it turned into which was sadening in itself. I wanted to work there and still do if under proper management, tho sadly I feel this will have no mager change is status at this location. Tho something must CHANGE something CORRECTED and management relieved and a respectful, mindful and importantly Educated individual to resume command over this location to breath life, efficiency and a happy work place environment for all employees and customers alike. I am a veteran and average American. I have gone to the Goodwill Store on South 38th Street, Tacoma, WA many times and was thrilled when they reverted back to having sales (Tue/Wed/Thurs 99 cents for the color tags from the prior week. The manager in this Goodwill store has questioned me three different occasions about my PTSD Service dog. The first time she stated “dogs are not allowed in the stores” and I explained about my dog. The customer service at this Goodwill has gone from bad to worse and today not only was I questioned by another Goodwill Assistant Manager about my dogs, but the look she gave me was equal to any of the Goodwill staff working there. The prices have become unstable and today I saw a 3/4 full bottle of Windex marked $4.99 (blue tag). When asked for a dressing room I was told by the employee “my gosh I don”t have time for this, I work this whole store, back and forth, forth and back”. I WILL NOT SHOP AT THIS GOODWILL EVER AGAIN, the entire store has an uneasy feeling of they are doing the customers a favor and it”s not good. I will go back to Value Village, Salvation Army, and two other Goodwill Stores across town. Shame on this store for the way customers are made to feel!!!

I am an ex-employee of GoodWill Industries in Western Illinois and I have seen the honest donations of good hearted people be thrown in the garbage.These items had nothing wrong with them and were thrown out due to, “needing to make room for more”. Employees in the back near the donation door are told to never let the donators see you throwing out there items or breaking them. Items that were on the shelves that were also great items that were donated were brought off the floor and tossed in back to be destroyed. VHS were taken out of the boxes and thrown into the garbage which had nothing wrong with them and they, “need to make more room”.It is sad because these items are being tossed in a trash compactor for no reason and people who donated them thought they were going to be going to the floor to be sold for the cause. This is not the case. Also there thing for employing people with disability to better them is false. They use these employees to overwork them and underpay them for the multiple jobs they are doing. There is no offer for training towards anyone hired. Also they show no concern towards the well being of their workers since I saw 2 employees injured who were not shown enough concern and no report was written for one that should have been. Anyone who shops at GoodWill is supporting a place that overprices, under pays workers and obviously shows no care towards others kind hearted gestures. GOOD WILL I THINK NOT!

I am disabled. I was a cook at Doogers Seafood and Grill. The Warrenton resturaunt closed. I went to Goodwill to apply for a job. The women, was rude to me. She said no I can”t help you, unless your a citizen, and that I need to learn better english. I showed her paperwork where I am on Asylum in USA. I also have a passport, and Oregon ID. I will be filing a formal complaint against Warrenton Goodwill. Hopefully Warrenton Goodwill could teach english classes to immigrants in the near future. I am not quite sure what is going on there but the manager has chosen to raise prices on things without actually raising them. If he wants them raises he should just raise the price, not mess around with changing the rules, when they are different from other Goodwill outlets, and change them every month. For example, “electronics” do now not include anything with a battery now, only if it has a cord. So a pocket calculator is not an “electronic”, nor is a handheld video game device. Likewise “glassware” and “dishware” does now not include anything you can cook with. Last time I was there they were trying to make us pay $8 for a cooking pan when the sticker price was 1.99! I just thought you should know you have a manger at that location that does not have the “goodwill” of his customers in mind, and is constantly playing games to get his numbers up. I am sure he is pulling funny business elseware as well.

I am on my soap box… I went into our local goodwill to pass the time during the new year. I found a few tops that were nice, the day was monday… This means 1/2 price day.. The tops where priced 9.99 regularly, so the tops would be $5.00. I could go to our local wal-mart and buy a new top for the same price on the clearance racks. The times are hard… And even harder in a small town. If the tops would have been priced at the regular top prices they would have been 4.99… Half price should have been 2.50. I was looking at the necklaces nicely displayed, on a window rack (Not gold) the price was 12.99, and watches that did not work for 9.99 yes… I just stepped back and shook my head. A lady who was shopping in the store stopped me and asked is these jeans 14.99 then half price today. I told her that was crazy! The jeans had a tag on them that had already turned yellow (Aged). Greed is the reason for the pricing. When you go in to the store, the only person you will see is the young girl at the check out counter. The young lady will tell you that the home office set the prices. If you ask to talk to the manager, she will call back to the back room to be told by the manager she is busy… And the price are not changable. The manager and the other staff is in the back room. Looking items up on the internet to price them. Get real! We are talking about donations, not purchased items… A resonable price. Get off the ebay stores and run the store in our area. Help the community… While I am here… Why does a family who has been burned out have to fill out a voucher… Wait… To have it approved by the home office in tallahassee florida to help a family… The wait can take about three days… These people need clothes now… Not three days. I am working at the goodwill in defiance. I can honestly say not safely that I don”t enjoy my job. I do however like what I do its so easy you couldn”t ask for easier. But letting your supervisor tell a complete lie and not get in trouble just so that you can…isn”t right. The defiance goodwill is ran by a bunch of kids that make up rules along the way. Not only have I been sexually discriminated but they make me feel as if I”m not smart enough for them. They wasn”t going to hire me because I”m “gay”. Now they are trying to make me quit. I once again got wrote up for a rule the boss just told me that she just made up because she didn”t ilk the voice I was talking in. I didn”t say anything inappropriate, I said it in a very girly voice and now I”m in trouble. Are supervisor walks back and forth threw that place singing and waving her hands all around or yelling random words. But yet I”m the one that cant talk right. Is that even fair? They constantly make excuses up for her. She is 58 act like it. I know I”m not the only one to complain. But we or myself don”t know what to do.
A scam under a dark cloud
Goodwill is just an organized scam company, first off all of its product are free donations and so Goodwill does not even pay for the products that they sell. Second is that they mark up there prices over one hundred percent if you considered that all the products were donated for free. Goodwill gets tax credits from the government and probably even free rent and buildings paid for by the government and are taxes. The whole goodwill concept started out as a good service to the poor but goodwill is really just padding there pockets for free.
