Happy Camper Rentals needs to be investigated. We are among the many that got caught off guard in a vulnerable position after all vacation plans have been made. They are preying on hard working people ready for a vacation. Everything looks legitimate on the website( no complaints show up in a search for RV rentals… only found after our experience when I googled complaints… this is unfortunate ) They seem professional and attentive with their emails sending you contracts to sign and calling you to make sure you will be bringing $500.00 in cash or a money order. Then on the day we were due to pick up the trailer we tried calling them numerous times to find the place but no one ever called back. We finally found the dusty back lot with no sign on the road for Happy Camper only a sign with the street number. We got there and a man named Steve greeted us outside he said the office was closed. We were getting suspicious but the trailer seemed in good condition and are car was loaded for a week of camping. He walked around the trailer and noted condition when we asked for a copy of the noted existing dings, missing covers, etc. he said their copier was broken. We took pictures to document the condition with our phone and made had him correct a receipt for the deposit which did not indicate the amount luckily we noticed the mistake. On the way back we again attempted to call them and got the machine no one has yet to call back. The trailer worked fine and we took pictures of the inside since we were wary of their claim to charge for cleaning. The trailer was returned no one was there to check it out. We had to put the keys through a hole in the dilapidated door. We will give Happy Camper the 10 business days to issue a check for return of our 500 dollar cash deposit. If it do not get the check in a reasonable mailing time( we live close to Riverside ) we will contact our lawyer and the media. Its is clear from the many complaints we found after we rented that others need to be warned about this company
