I went online looking for health insurance through the exchange. I made an inquiry and was called on the phone almost immediately. I didn’t find out until well into the conversation that the insurance they were talking about wasn’t through the exchange. I was told that I could go to the doctor of my choice and there was no huge deductible. And, for just a little bit more monthly premium, my husband and I could get life insurance. I was told that I didn’t have to pay my full first month premium all at once. I could pay some now and the rest in about 6 weeks. I felt really good. I had secured health insurance in the enrollment window and promptly forgot about it.
After about a month I had received my life insurance packets and a card for supplemental accident insurance I waited for my health insurance cards and benefit/prescription drug info until after the holidays. When I still didn’t receive anything, I called. I was told that my cards and benefits info had been mailed in Nov. I knew that was a lie because they had told me that I wouldn’t get them until they withDrew the remaining premium amount in late Dec. They said they would re-send the cards/info by mail and send me digital insurance cards via email. When that didn’t happen, I called back and was told more BS.
That is when I went to my bank statements and found that they had withdrawn more money than had been approved. I was told that they would be withdrawing $218.00 on Nov. 8th and $107.00 on Dec 23rd. Totaling $325.00. They actually withDrew $221.16 on Nov 25th and 221.16 on Dec 23rd. Totaling $442.32. They STOLE an extra $117.32 above the amounts I authorized! I contacted them back and demanded a refund. I will give them some time to send my refund. If they don’t, I will be going after them through my bank. I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I had to include their business address in the complaint, looked it up and guess what? It is a UPS STORE!
Wish I Could Give 0 Stars!
So I had quit my job to stay home with my daughter and that meant we were going to lose our insurance. I needed insurance for myself and my daughter. I went online like many of you looking for coverage quotes. A women called me from Health Insurance Innovations. She was very nice and personable. I explained that I needed coverage for myself and my then 4 year old so that we could go to the Dr. when we needed to and so that I would not get penalized by the gov at tax time for not having insurance.
She asked me what I could afford and I told her. She then went through a few general health questions but said I would not need to speak to an underwriter. I should have hung up there… I asked why I didn’t need to have my medical records checked and she said that they didn’t need to do that with their company, as long as nobody had cancer or HIV we would be covered. She went through this whole spiel about how she had gotten me a great rate on an incredible policy due to her connections with this company and that she could only offer the “special rate” right then!
So I being desperate to get coverage for my baby I paid out 563 bucks that day for an insurance plan though Humana. My payments would be 383.00 per month for the both of us! I was excited and thought YES we have coverage! so I wait a few and get my cards and welcome packet only to see in bold THIS IS NOT STANDARD INSURANCE BUT A SUPPLEMENT TO INSURANCE! Are you freaking kidding me! not only did this women tell me I was purchasing actual insurance real insurance that I could use but she also had me tell her where my daughter went to the ped, I told her and she says oh yea your covered there (I’ll get to that in a bit).
So I immediately call Health Insurance Innovations and demand to know why I was mislead. They just kinda blew it off like I must have misunderstood the lady who sold it to me. I did not misunderstand, at NO POINT did she say that this was a supplement and we even spoke about how I didn’t want to get penalized at tax time and she assured me I would not because I was getting insurance! They assured me on the phone that even though this was a supplement my child and I could still go to the Dr. and be covered so I just kept it.
At that point it was past the time I was allotted for a qualifying event so I would need to wait at least 8 months to get a new actual plan at open enrollment. So I felt I had no choice in the matter and my baby needed coverage! So I’ve been paying my premiums thinking she would be covered to go to the Dr. I take her in today for a nasty cold only to be told that not only do they NOT ACCEPT this particular policy but that they NEVER HAVE!! I am LIVID and have called and cancelled my account! I have asked for a refund and they said it will be 3 to 5 business days. Fine we will see but I’ve blocked them from taking ANYMORE of my money at the bank! Bunch of SCAM ARTISTS SHAME ON YOU!! I will tell everyone that will listen about you guys!
Fraudulent and Misleading "Health" Insurance Policies
While trying to research an affordable Health Care Plan for my family (thanks failed Obamacare!) I clicked a link I THOUGHT was for health insurance quotes. In minutes I received a phone call from a sales person at Health Insurance Innovations. To be QUITE HONEST, she did tell me that they were NOT a “Major Medical” Insurance company, but the rest of what she said was VERY MISLEADING. She led me to believe that they used First Health and Coventry providers and looked up our doctors to confirm that they were on the plan, THEY DON’T HAVE ANY CONTRACT WITH FIRST HEALTH OR COVENTRY TO VERIFY ANYTHING!
What they are really selling is a BUNDLE OF SMALL WORTHLESS LIFE INSURANCE AND “HEALTH BENEFITS” aka Home Prevention and Workouts, TeleMed (who do not really help you) and a bunch of worthless pharmacy information. UNFORTUNATELY by the time I found this out, I had already given them all of my personal information PLUS my debit card information to start a “Limited Medical Liability” policy on August 1, 2017. While on the phone, they sent me to the “confirmation” line where the gentlemen walked me through approval paces, and then said that he would walk me through the email with the “automatic signatures”.
I’m glad that my brain kicked back in when my I saw the email. It was a whole LOT of worthless programs and insurances. Some of them nothing more than REFERRAL services!!! 18 pages of it! Most of them stating that if you agreed by signing, you pretty much signed away to rights to anything! I told him I needed time to read through it before signing anything. He wanted to wait on the phone with me, I told him to call me back in an hour and we would discuss. When I started reading the mess, I meant to print it out, but initially couldn’t.
What I did see only then was a “DECLINE” Button, which I used, along with a “Reason for Declining” box: I left a strongly worded explanation as to what lengths I would go to if they tried to put through ANY of the charges. I finally decided to do a little online research and OMG, these people are ripping folks off right and left all across the country! Based out of Florida, they call from numbers beginning with (954) and (754). My legal background finally paid off. READ EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU SIGN ANYTHING!!!
My common sense really kicked in then, and I called my bank and had my debit card CANCELLED. TAKE THAT HII Imposters! You will never get a legal cent from me, and if I find that you have used or abused any of the personal information you have about me I will report you to every bloody agency, state, or federal program to take action against you and your employees. Especially Ms Prem **, agent for HII who was feeding me the lies about “no out of pocket” expenses, cash prices negotiated and payment to doctors, with maybe only a little balance left to pay if out of network. “Pennies on the dollar,” she said. They don’t HAVE a network!!! They are liars!
You could incur tens of thousands of dollars or millions before they would pay out anything to you. I will follow up with a fax to their number tomorrow of my DECLINE message and the automated return message from them that acknowledged I declined to sign. RUN AWAY from these sleazy sales people, report them to your state, add them to your blocked call list and report them if they continue to try to call you! Legal action IS available in every state against these types of practices if they get enough complaints. Hopefully they will get the hint, because they sure a hell ain’t gonna get my money!
No Payment For Service
I started a policy with Hii.com in September 2017. This was for short term medical insurance. In November of 2017 I had to go to a hospital emergency room for treatment. HII (Health Insurance Innovations) has yet to pay for any service. HII takes my monthly payments automatically. There is no reason to deny the claims. Next, I saw a doctor in 2018 who said I have a deviated septum and needed surgery. He said he would have his secretary check with HII to make sure that the surgery would be covered. The surgery was scheduled for March 22, 2018. Prior to the surgery I was contacted by a person with HII to renew my policy. That was done early in March. Monthly payments were made for my policy from September 2017 to present without any skip of payment.
I went for the surgery and the billing department was getting “double talk” from HII about getting their payment. I called HII multiple times to check on getting payment for service. I was told “relax we are processing the claim…” Calls about my claim were from June 2018 through September 2018. In September 2018 I called to find out what was happening with my claim. After all these months and talking to people at HII I was now told my claim was denied because “there is a 5 day waiting period for new members and my policy started on March 21…”
I explained that I have been a policyholder since September of 2017 and my banking statements show that payments were made for my medical insurance policy monthly so there should be no skip in service and I wasn’t a new policyholder in March 2018. So I have been payment for medical insurance since September 2017 through September 2018 but received no payment for claims. HII just took my monthly payments and denied everything. This is the most horrible company I have ever dealt with and I would recommended that NO ONE USE HII (Health Insurance Innovations) for medical insurance.
Scam Website - Bait - Fraud Alert!
Please be careful of phishing websites that represent themselves very well as Legitimate Insurance using well known names, educated and informative 1st Call “agents”. In my case her name was Jenny and she gave me her direct line and I have never been able to speak to her again. TOTAL FRAUD and MISREPRESENTATION by these 1st Contact “Agents”.
Thereafter, I tried and it goes to a call center. This call center also sounds legitimate, taking your name, phone number and birthday, then asking how they can help. When trying to get more information, and starting to ask specific questions the lines would always either be put on hold then go dead, or just go dead. I would use another menu, same thing. Big Red Flags as I started looking further into the company.
PLEASE READ SPECIFICALLY ABOUT THIS TYPE OF FRAUD!!! They fraudulently represent themselves both on the internet and over the phone. I even told one person I was recording the conversation and asked to talk to her manager about refunding my money. I was sure to address the well documented notes I had taken and again the line went dead.
Now I am left knowing all my person information is out there, I was forced to call my bank and cancel the debit card for fraud and move forward. I am now going to put in a report for the INSURANCE INVESTIGATING UNIT IN TALLAHASSEE to look into this company that has set up these (hundreds) of fake sites, communication networks and false Medical, Dental and Even Life insurance policies.
I would encourage you to do the same if you have had this happen to you. It is not ok to believe you have insurance, pay for it and then when somethings happens, find out it does not exist or is no good. Please beware of Health Insurance Innovations and any of its “underwriting” companies.
Deceptive and Predatory Scam, May Result in Death
Please STOP and read every review on this page as they are accurate. Do not I repeat do not do business with this company. The name alone should be illegal as they are in no way an insurance company. Here’s my experience-A family member has had this plan for a while. She was diagnosed with a type of cancer that is rapidly malignant. She must start treatment now or she is dead in 2 months. If she does start treatment now, she has a 95% chance of being fine. Great – start treatment.
It’s at this time she realized what everyone on this page is saying- this policy is complete crap and has no benefits related to any actual medical treatments, conditions, or medications. Given that she has a pre-existing condition now of cancer, she is not able to get insured by any insurance on a direct basis. The ACA and Healthcare marketplace, while I disagree with the pre-existing condition legislation, is meant to assist in this situation. Given that it is outside the enrollment period, she can only get coverage via the special enrollment period.
The only one she remotely qualifies for (since pending major medical condition that may result in death is not a qualifying criteria) would be if she ended an insurance policy within the last 60 days. If so, great. If she dropped insurance on 4/26/18, she could technically be covered by a BCBS marketplace plan on 4/27/18. NOPE- this isn’t real insurance, even though it says it and pretends to be. Therefore, she is up a creek.
Her Medicare kicks in late July. If she starts treatment now, it will bankrupt her family before then and she won’t do it. If she is still alive come Medicare coverage, her health will have been extremely deteriorated due to the delay in treatment. Attn Health “Insurance” Innovations- please prepare for some major wrongful death, pain and suffering, all kinds of lawsuits.
Misrepresentation and Shame Tactics
I posted a review/warning about this company on BBB recently, but I feel the need to make note on here as well. This company is a misrepresenting trap. Their “legitimate” function is as a supplement to already existing coverage (which even then, isn’t taken as legitimate in much of my experience). However, their advertised function is to be a full out insurance policy, which they are anything but. It’s full blown misrepresentation. The company preyed upon an inexperienced me when I was attempting to wait for callbacks related to Medicaid, under Covered-CA.
Do not be fooled however, they have nothing to do with National Health Coverage, or Obamacare, whatever you want to call it. They must have some way to know when people register, especially during the busy coverage season of November-January, and prey upon those unaware and waiting for legitimate insurance to call them back because that’s precisely what happened to me…and looking at other reviews, what seems to have happened to others in general. Their rates might seem reasonable, but it’s too good to be true. They WILL siphon months of cash from you and offer next to nothing in way of actual use.
What’s especially telling, is the sheer hostility you will be met with when you attempt to cancel the policy. Constant attempts to veer you from the subject with buddying up pitches to give you “better rates” or other such favors and when that doesn’t work, there’s a good chance the agent will attempt to guilt-trip you by trying to make it seem like you’re being irrational in the face of their “help”. I know this is a tactic, because I attempted to end this twice and both times I got the exact same treatment from two different people. It’s like clockwork.
Never raised my voice, always listened to the full pitch before simply saying “That won’t be necessary thanks, I’d just like to cancel”, and I still got a “why are you trying to argue with me when I’m just trying to help?”. It’s not you, it’s them. It’s a trick to keep you on board, and it’s dastardly. Probably the most telling bookend to this is when I finally got them to cancel my policy, I was hung up on without so much as a thank you or a “will that be all”, while I was mid way in saying “thanks for your help”. If that level of unprofessionalism doesn’t say everything I don’t know what does.
I was inexperienced and foolish and now I know better, but if these people are still in business and they contact you, do yourself a favor and save yourself hundreds of dollars by listening to both this review and the hundreds of compounding negative reviews that are thankfully showing up about this scam of a company. I’m tempted myself to file a fraud report, though they probably have some loophole ready. Nonetheless, spread the word and be wary of HIIQ.
Scam
I spoke with Jeff ** of Health Insurance Innovations. I was told that I could qualify to get coverage from Humana. I was told I would get eye and dental coverage too. I was also told I would have prescription coverage too. I had a million questions all of which were answered by a very knowledgeable Mr. **. I took notes and felt very prepared.
I thought I had insurance from Humana, as well as eye and dental insurance. After this conversation, I was on the phone with another agent who read to me all the details of the coverage I was going to get. I was not allowed to answer questions otherwise the conversation would have to begin again.
I went to make an appointment with the dentist and I did not have coverage. I called Health Insurance Innovations, they told me I definitely had insurance and gave me the number of the company that provided the coverage. I called them, they are a concierge service and only book appointments with dentists they do not provide insurance. I promptly called HII Back and they told me again that I had dental insurance.
Fast forward three months, I wish to make an appointment at my primary care physician and my doctor tells me I do not have Health insurance. I called HII and demanded to speak to a supervisor, I was told this was not an option, instead, they gave me the number to Humana.
I called Humana and came to find out that I did not have insurance. I called Health Insurance Innovation and it took me an hour to speak to someone who would finally cancel my ‘insurance’. They refused to let me speak to a supervisor. This company is a scam, they are all sheisters at this company and I believe the world would be a better place if this company did not exist. If I had money I would sue them for the 400$ I paid for 4 months of no coverage.
Misleading and Fraudulent
This is my far the most deceptive company I have ever dealt with. We were faced with having to use Cobra and I began researching policies. I came across Health Innovation Services. Shortly after asking for a quote I was called by a representative. The person spoke very good English, appeared to be very knowledgeable about the plans and was very helpful. I asked very specific questions about the policy such as, would well-women and mammograms be covered, would there be a discounted rate for things such as x-rays, blood work etc.
I was told many things and they were all false. Everything was a lie to get you to sign on. There is absolutely NO coverage for any of the things in which I inquired. This was not just one person giving the wrong information. Because there was a lot of researching to be done, I spoke with several people from HII over two days. Also, we were told that the only non-federally required item was that there was no maternity coverage and therefore, we would not have a tax related penalty. Wrong! Looks like we will be paying a fine this year.
The coverage began in April. After calling several times, we still do not have insurance cards. It is now August. Every single time I call about coverage, a different and misleading answer is given. Plus, you are often on the phone with someone you cannot understand.
You do not actually have insurance through the Health Insurance Innovations. They send you to a completely different company. This policy was sent to Allied Insurance. When I have called about coverage questions and am given completely different answers from what we were told the policy covered, the representatives from Allied are not surprised. Apparently, it is very common for them to get customer complaints about being lied to about coverage from HII. Again, EVERY SINGLE THING we were told was basically a LIE. Please save yourself some trouble and keep looking for a more reliable plan via a different company.
Scam Fake Horrible
I obtained Health Insurance and Prescription coverage from this company in Dec 2017. This company finally sent me a benefits package Aug 23, 2018 telling me this is the insurance coverage I was paying for. This package included different cards for a discount program and accident coverage with a discount insurance plan. This is in no way what we have been paying for. We have Aflac. Why would we ever of asked for the accident coverage.
They also sent us NCE Gap Afford Plus Discount Plan and American Financial Security Life Issuance Indemnity insurance. None of these were ever anything we wanted nor were quoted for. The quote and money paid was for the health insurance we enrolled for. Our Rep went into details on the coverage options, dr’s in network and our medications to confirm the insurance was affordable and COVERED. This company has lied to me over the phone and either ignore the medical bills or state they are pre existing.
I need all my medical bills covered as promised. The quote and coverage we obtained include: 6 Free in network dr’s visits (our doctor is in network). $50 Emergency deductible and $4 dollar prescription. This package they sent me is a joke. We would have never signed up for this insurance package. We have now requested they stop taking money out of our account. The amount we were paying monthly was $518. Since I have raising a stink they only took out $390 in Sept and sent me an inferior package. It has to be a SCAM. Now my Great Credit is going to **.
Con Artist Alert Not Real Insurance
I really needed to get some insurance going until the next open enrollment as I changed jobs and did not want to be without insurance. The agent I spoke with JAZZMINE **, with Assurance HII (Health Insurance Innovations ) lied to me and said I had full coverage with PPO and a deductible for 30 dollars. State my rate would be $202 a month and that I would pay no more than $15 for generic medication and a cap at $50 otherwise.
I DID unfortunately need to use my insurance last month when I became ill only to find out that I did not have real insurance. I had a discount card. She played me and they have been taking out of my account directly for 6 months now. I would have never known had I not become ill so I guess everything happens for a reason.
Jazzmine ** you are scum. Trying to make a sale and being more than happy to con someone in order to get commission is beneath the standard of mankind. You’re less than an animal. People’s lives are important. You have a job that allows you to make a difference. Being transparent and honest should be your priority. And as I promised you. I WILL be letting as many people know what kind of people you are. JASMINE **. Associated with Assurance Hii (Health Insurance Innovations) Cardinal CHOICE.
Sales Agent Lied About Health Benefits
After browsing the internet for health coverage, I was contacted by a salesperson who verbally communicated that this plan was the same as a PPO. He assured me that the plan covered 3 doctor’s visits per year and all I would have to pay was $25 out-of-pocket for each visit. He also said that it guarantees up to $2,000 for dental visits for the year. I paid $329 when I signed up and have been paying $204 for the past 7 months. I went to the doctor once and just found out that this Multi Benefit Limited Plan only covers $50 for each doctor’s visit. So now I’ve paid over $1,500 to this company and I’m stuck with a bill for $292 from my doctor’s office.
I tried to cancel coverage immediately and have been bounced around to various departments and put in hold for an hour! Lying to close a sale is fraudulent and someone will be held accountable. Their salesperson Daniel and supervisor Quentin ** both confirmed that I was getting an actual insurance policy and when I tried to obtain a breakdown of benefits online, it was not available.
Liars/Money Hungry
I got this insurance about 3 weeks ago, but they failed to mention that there are NO major coverages (maternity, dental, etc.) so once I realized that, I called to cancel my plan less than two weeks later. They assured me that my policy was cancelled and that my refund would be in my account 3-5 business days later. I called 7 business days later because my money still hasn’t arrived, and they’re now saying that there was no request for a refund as if I were just going to be giving away my money for free. They tried to wait until my 30 days were up so they would no longer have to send my refund.
Biggest Thiefs Online/Scammers
I was online shopping for health insurance. Called this company who told me they were able to provide coverage at a reasonable premium. After filling out the application and providing payment information, they sent some documents to be e-signed. After signing the documents the guy found out he had sent the wrong documents and proceeded to send some others.
Before signing the correct documents to authorize the transaction I had a change of heart and decided not to proceed. I told them I’m not going to proceed. As soon as I got off the phone with them they billed my account for the full amount. I called them back to ask them why were they billing my account. The guy I spoke to told me that he wasn’t the account manager and he couldn’t get in contact with the account manager. Long and short they stole my money. But I will tell you that you have messed with the wrong person. These people are thief!!! They belong in jail!! Why are they allowed scam people out of their hard earned money!!!
Insurance Fraud, Do Not Trust!
I recently called as a worried mother trying to provide health insurance for my older daughter. A representative named “Alexis” spoke with me and gave me some information about “health insurance” and sold me this as a PPO plan. This is a DISTORTED FALSE representation. DO NOT FALL FOR IT. It’s a scam, they charged me $125 for the application fee plus $202 for the supposed plan. Prior to this the representative “Alexis” told me I would receive the information on my email and the identification card and other documents on the mail in 2 weeks.
And I would get everything by text…since I didn’t receive a confirmation or the policy in my email I called back immediately, but the representative had “conveniently” just left and I was the last customer. I went to BBB (Better Business Bureau) and saw all the reviews. Sadly I found out I had been scammed. I will of course file a complaint with the BBB, but I am honestly tired of these companies taken advantage of honest people who are just trying to either find a service, health insurance or whatever it is you are looking for.
I think it’s time for some change. How is it possible that this company is still open with so many bad reviews, complaints and being under investigation for Fraud. If somebody on this website wants to sue them, please reply to this and we can get in contact. I have my lawyers ready to go.
Scammed Thinking It Was Obamacare.
Same as every single review on this horrible company. Hard to believe this place is a real company in America. I really thought this was a few guys in a garage somewhere in Iran. How are they still able to steal money from honest people. I’m not sure and how are they not shut down yet. They got me for over $600.00. I’ve called to cancel 4 times and it just never happens. I called within the 30 days to cancel with a no problem money back guarantee. Really didn’t wanna cancel my bank account because all my bills are coming out of it. Had no choice.
Glad all these people including myself are being forced to pay for medical insurance from a place claiming to be from our gov’t discounted insurance website. They sound legit. I was on the phone going through plans for almost a hour. It was the last day of open enrollment so I had no choice. Was so excited that I got insurance finally and I showed my mother in law and she immediately called me back and told me it’s a well known scam.
I called to cancel with no issue. Never received my money back or contact. Never been so upset in my life. Instead of these kids shooting up schools they need to visit these lovely people ripping off hard working people being forced to buy insurance from a place claiming to be the best insurance Obamacare has to offer.
I Feel Like I Was Ripped Off
I clicked on to find healthcare and received a phone call a minute after finished the form. I thought I was speaking to an insurance agent not a third party. I ended up paying 403.00 for no insurance but a fees. I was talked into insurance that is terrible. I am receiving doctors bills for insurance that covers nothing. I am hurting now and can’t see a doctor. These people should be looked by the insurance commissioner of NC and other states. Dont trust a word they say. My guy told me I would be able to call him back anytime but his ext doesn’t even work. I hope karma gets all of them.
Fraudulent Crooks, Horrible People and Company
DO NOT EVER EVER EVER USE THESE CROOKS. I wish I had read all the nasty, negative, horrible reviews before I used them. I hope there is some kind of class action lawsuit against them someday. Not only did they lie to me and deceive me, they were insanely un-helpful in canceling the four ** policies they signed me up for, telling me it was all things I needed and all under one policy. I spent weeks trying to cancel all the freaking crap they signed me up for not knowing I’d be dealing with 4 different companies. Every single EXPENSIVE health related thing they signed me up for DID NO GOOD and absolutely was horrendous. NEVER. Seriously, NEVER use these evil people.
Misrepresentation, Bait and Switch, Fraud and Deception
Once I entered my contact information online, within 10 seconds I was contacted by “Nick” a “licensed insurance agent”. I told his specifically I needed insurance that would cover pre-existing conditions. We went over our pre existing conditions, the medications we take, the amount of office visits we usually have for our conditions.
During the conversation I was transferred to Tiffany, a benefit specialist, we also spoke about preexisting conditions. When I received the paperwork, it stated that the coverage WOULD NOT COVER ANY PREEXISTING CONDITIONS. They straight lied, lied, lied. Once the lie was discovered, I tried to reach the same people again and was blocked at every attempt.
My real complaint is against the Department of Insurance in the states where this is going on. With this many complaints, with the organization using several different names, with the amount of deception and misrepresenting, how on earth are the still allowed to do business??? This is more than a buyer beware, this is a company using salespeople trained to deceive. I called and spoke to a supervisor on 10/4/17 and she was very well versed at continuing the lie. Departments of Insurance are set up to protect the public, why are they failing to do so?
Scam - I Am Out Hundreds Of Dollars. Not A Legit Company.
I paid my health insurance in advance. My coverage was to start 12/01/2016. I had several appointments on 12/3/2016 and 12/08/2016. They refused to cover any of it. Their reasoning was as follows: “We are not responsible for any coverage during the first week of your coverage”. They would not pay for my medical appointments even tho I paid for coverage and was within my plan and received my welcome card and beginning coverage date of 12/01/2016. They are scam artists. They will not cover you. These people need to be put in prison. This is sick and needs to end.
Insurance Misinformation
The worst health insurance ever. They do not provide any service that they promised to cover at all. I paid about $786.00 for registration and a monthly payment. However I went to see my Dr. Office to do annual check up none of the things they said they will cover was not covered. I end up paying out of my pocket for the whole visit.
Called the insurance to cancel my policy got running around for 20 minutes and told me it was canceled. After a couple of months later I got another bill and told them I have called and canceled it and requested a refund, unfortunately they are trying to convince me to re sign for the insurance again. After I had fought with them for 30 minutes they canceled it but still refused to give me my money back. I am forced to talk to a lawyer to get my money back. Never ever sign up any thing with this people. They are a scamper. Check their reviews. All of them are trained to cheat as much as they can. Stay away from this insurance company.
Beware This Isn't Insurance It's a Discount Program
I’m telling my story today so others don’t make the same mistake. I’m a recently minted entrepreneur, my previous employer’s cobra ran out in May 2017 necessitating me to get insurance on my own. I made the unfortunate mistake of applying for healthcare quotes through a website I thought was the Affordable Healthcare Marketplace (Marketplace official website is: www.Healthcare.gov). Here is where I met HII (Health Insurance Innovations). In my conversation with the HII representative I told him that I was a healthy 51 year old with no preexisting conditions needing insurance to cover me in case of unforeseen life debilitating medical events (Cancer, tumors, etc…).
He sold me a policy for $300 a month that would cover 70 percent of any medical expenses with no deductibles. The problem is that, this is important pay close attention, they don’t pay anything. The 70 % is only based on a discounted rate they negotiate with the in network providers. If you go out of network it’s 100% on you and good luck with the network. No one seems to know the network. As for their ability to get you a good discounted rate let’s take their prescription program as an example of the performance you can expect.
My 90 day prescription of ** 20mg which use to cost me less than a dollar with my previous plan will now cost me over $100.00. The pharmacist pointed me to www.goodrx.com a free website to get discounted drugs. The price on GoodRx.com is about $40. Luck for me. I don’t need any other medical services and was able to get a policy from Obamacare for $66 that is comparable to my previous plan. HII is not insurance. Run don’t walk away.
Extremely Frustrating
Run away! This is not a reliable company. I was attempting to get health care for my daughter. After being on the phone for 40 minutes with an agent we were disconnected. I called back and was on the phone for another 45 minutes. The health insurance I was buying from UnitedHealthOne was canceled and switched to A1 indemnity insurance (which isn’t health insurance) without my knowledge.
The payment was supposed to have been stopped. However, a charge for yet another insurance company called Loomis appeared on my account. The entire experience was tiresome, pointless, and an exercise in futility. My daughter still has no health insurance. HIIQuote doesn’t deserve even one star.
Bad Company
I’ve read some of these reviews and it’s very similar to my experience with HII. I also was told this was real insurance so I bought it for tax purposes then a few months later started having some stomach issues. So I went to see a doctor and he ordered an ultrasound. I was worried if I was covered for this so I called and asked. They assured me it would be covered but almost a year later now they have rejected my claim and I’m stuck with thousands of dollars worth of medical bills.
Deny All Claims There Should Be a 0
I have claim after claim they continue to deny. They have denied every claim from every doctor we have ever gone to and that included a TV accident. They have denied claims were we got pre-approval on.
Fraud Insurance
This company is fraud. My husband is a diabetic and had to go to the hospital all because this company is fraud. He could not even get his medications. I will be more than happy to join teams with anyone’s lawyer out of my state to sue this company due to their fraud acts. Let me know A.S.A.P.
Never Use Them Because They Do Not Pay for Anything.
I lost $6500.00 on this company over three years and got nothing out of it. Not even $1.00. Their customer service is ZERO and they just do not honor their business at all. Run away from them as fast as you can. They deactivated my account and kept taking the monthly charge from my credit card (4 months) before I found it out. I earn my money hard but they could take it away from me effortlessly.
Poor Customer Service
It is very hard to understand the customer service reps because their phone lines are poor and cut out. Additionally, we had a plan that was canceled 6 months ago and they kept charging my company a small fee hoping that I wouldn’t notice the charges. I’m now trying to get them to refund the money that they inappropriately billed me.
Worst Company Ever
Thankfully, I haven’t made a purchase. Their sales department, however, got a hold of my number somehow. I receive two to three calls from them a day, despite having repeatedly asked to be taken off of their call list. When I mention this to their employees, they become hostile, or hang up on me. I have filed a complaint against them.
Worst Mistake Ever! A Complete Scam!!!
I advise EVERYONE to stay away from Health Insurance Innovations. I switched to their health insurance on May 1. On May 3, I had an emergency and had to go to the hospital. I submitted my insurance information and trusted this company to at least discount my services, as promised. At the end of May, Health Insurance Innovations called me with an upgrade to a better policy with their company. I told the salesperson who called that I would like the upgrade, but I wanted to make sure it would not affect my claim earlier that month. No, no, my claim would definitely be covered; the upgrade won’t affect it at all.
I received a statement from Health Insurance Innovations in early June for my May 3 hospital statement, and everything looked fine. I even called them at that time to confirm. Yes, I would be receiving my discounts, the bill was pending, everything was fine.
Fast forward to October. I suddenly receive a bill FOR THE FULL AMOUNT, no discounts applied, from my hospital visit and another statement from Health Insurance Innovations telling me they would not be applying ANY benefits of my coverage to my hospital bill.
Why? I wasn’t covered during that time. Even after assuring me my claim would be covered, even after I received an official statement confirming that the claim had been received and the discounts applied, even after I called in and confirmed everything was fine, Health Insurance Innovations STILL decided, months later, to violate their own refund policy (which states that coverage CAN’T be cancelled if there’s a filed claim during the first 30 days) and cancel my insurance for that first month because I did not keep it longer than 30 days.
After speaking to what seemed like every employee in the company, who told me it was my fault for not catching their mistake sooner, I was finally transferred to one Mareeta, Customer Service Specialist Health Benefits Center, who after completely misunderstanding the situation, chose to ignore my repeated attempts to contact her. Health Insurance Innovations DOES NOT care about good customer service, nor do they care about the customers they claim to want to help. Take my advice. Stay as FAR AWAY from this company as possible.
LIARS, LIARS, LIARS!!!
This company called me after filling out a free insurance quotes online. If it’s too good to be true, then it usually is! They said I was purchasing a United Healthcare policy complete with 80/20 coverage, prescriptions coverage, even a 200,000 accident policy. They said I would have a 20.00 copay. If I wasn’t happy with my coverage before ten days was over I could cancel with a refund. WELL, it took them 3 weeks to get me any kind of paperwork to me.
After I read what I had bought I realized I had been took BIG time. Not a United Healthcare policy, it’s more of a weird membership to get discounts at various places – more like a travel and gym memberships!!! That’s NOT what these liars told me over the phone. Run or HANG up the phone if they contact you. Don’t give them any information about your bank account or don’t give them any money. It is a SCAM.
Insurance Scam
Run do not walk. RUN from this company. Healthcare Innovations, Tampa, Florida, will gladly take (scam) your money but NEVER deliver. I bought this insurance in 06/2015. I received a call from Gina after checking online with UnitedHealthcare. I was told there was a 1 year waiting period for preexisting conditions. I needed total knee replacement. I specifically purchased this insurance for this surgery. Gina even checked the Doctor and the facility to make sure they were in the network. How nice of Gina, however I am 2 weeks from surgery and I find out I have NO surgical benefits.
I have talked with numerous people at numerous numbers from this company. Some say I do have coverage but when my Doctor’s office calls for verification they are told I do not. This company apparently spends a great deal of money training their employees how to defraud the public.
Health Insurance
THIS INSURANCE COMPANY IS FRAUDULENT, SCAMMERS!! I immediately received a call from Shane after seeking low cost health insurance quotes online. He lied about this being an A rated PPO policy that 90% of providers nationwide accept. Told me mine and my spouse’s preexisting conditions and meds would be covered. Said my provider and spouse’s were in network. Lied when he said there was no discrimination against preexisting conditions, though they are not covered for first 12 months.
Stated I would pay nothing out of pocket at provider visits, they would bill insurance company i.e. $200, I would later get a bill for $25 from my provider. I told him my providers expect copays and payments at time services are rendered, he said contractually they have an agreement for it to work this way. When I received PDFs via email, I realized all were lies and it was gap insurance and a scam. This agent misrepresented this policy though he knew my situation of losing coverage 9/30/16 due to spouse’s retirement.
I have canceled this policy, demanded all my money be refunded as I was within my free look period, we will see. I am completing every review I can find and filing complaints of fraud with Insurance Commissioners in Mississippi and Florida. Also, lesson learned, if it sounds too good to be true, probably is. Do not deal with these people!
Stay Away From Health Insurance Innovations
This is a horrible company. They never delivered on their original contract and agreement. They lie to get you to sign up with them and tell you that they cover services that they really don’t. Then you end up being responsible for the entire bill. I ADVISE ANYONE LOOKING FOR HEALTH INSURANCE… STAY AWAY from this company!!! Please go with another health insurance company or you will be so sorry!
When I called at least three times, I continued to get rerouted to another person who told me something different and then I got hung up on numerous times, hence nothing got resolved. I am now stuck with a bill of over $1,000.00 even though I was still on their plan during the time of service. Please, do yourself a BIG favor and STAY AWAY FROM THIS DECEPTIVE COMPANY or you will be so sorry!!
Horrible!!! Scammers
6 months to get insurance cards, 5 months to get a packet outlining benefits, good luck speaking to someone who doesn’t have an accent. On hold forever, bounced around from person to person and good luck getting a supervisor. I received a notice that my daughter’s insurance is going to expire and I need to call to continue coverage. Well I get sent to another company who can’t even insure a single policy on a child.
I call back and get the excuse that they don’t actually insure people. Funny all paperwork and billing has their name on it. Nobody can explain a damn thing to me and they don’t want to. This in my opinion is the worst company I’ve ever had to deal with. Save yourself the pain, high pressure and anger. Find someone else!!!
Told Me I Had 10 Days To Cancel. Would Not Cancel At My Request.
This company will steal your money. I made my purchase on Friday and called to cancel on Monday. They told me it was cancelled and that I would receive a refund in 3 to 5 days. I call back the next day to confirm the cancellation and was told my order was not cancelled. They then assured me my order was cancelled and that I would receive a refund in 3 to 5 business days.
I called back the following Monday to check the status and was told that only part of the order was cancelled, and that it would be 7 to 10 business day for me to receive a refund. In the meantime I received the insurance card in the mail, which tells me nothing has been cancelled. I fear my money has been stolen by this company. They lie when they tell you that you can cancel. Stay clear of this company. I will be contacting the “consumer protection agency” in hopes that something can be done to stop this company from ripping people off.
Deceptive Sales. Not Actually ACA Compliant
We were misled on the actual policy. It was not medical, it was only catastrophic coverage, it was not ACA compliant, and did not even cover both of us. Come to find out Arkansas and Montana have filed a cease and desist because of the exact issues we had. Check out their 581 complaints on the BBB. We paid over $6000 for a medical insurance policy for our family which we did not actually have. We never received information about the policy or even a card. Unbelievable how dishonest, misleading, and dangerous this company is. If ever a class action suit is filed against them we will sign up with bells on.
