Hurd Auto Mall

About 5 weeks after my initial purchase, I started hearing loud chirping sounds coming from the engine at idle or at low speeds. I brought the car back to Hurd for an evaluation, thinking it a minor problem that could either be fixed on the spot or for a minimal charge. I was advised that I needed a repair totaling $1025. I realize that I had a 30-day warranty that had just expired but I feel that a major repair like this one should have been caught and fixed prior to them reselling this car to a new customer. I was told by my sales rep as well as the financing rep who secured my loan, what wonderful customer service this dealership provides and you become part of “the Hurd family” and to come back with any issues. I went back and spoke to my original sales person and he advised me that there was nothing he could do since I hadn’t purchased the extended warranty. Now I’m concerned about what other defects or problems might all of a sudden pop up now that the limited warranty is over. I’ve only had this car for basically a little over one month. I feel that Hurd is walking away from any responsibility now that it’s off their lot. All I am requesting is for them to fix my car at no charge and then we can both walk away from this relationship.
