Despite being on the don’t call list, I received a cold-call from Interstate National Dealer Services. They were working their standard “extended warranty scam.” Four of their con artists, who said their names were Linda, Scott, Matthew, and Carlos, handed me off to each other while trying to fleece me. They were all rude and deceptive. Their scam is the one where they try sell you (sight unseen) a completely worthless “extended warranty” that will NEVER pay for a repair due to its broad exclusion language. Their pre-existing conditions clause is so broad that it can be used to deny any claim. Used car dealers like to sell these fake warranties because National Dealer Services splits the booty with them–100% profit. Interstate National Dealer Services representatives falsely claimed their worthless contract, Interstate Platinum, is just like the manufacturer’s warranty. They tried to weasel a $495 downpayment from me on a total cost of $4,078 before they would send me a copy of their worthless contract to review. I found the turd on the internet. If victims carefully read it, they will want to cancel in accordance with state law and the company’s promise to give a complete refund if you cancel within 30 days. Ha ha. They never give anyone a refund according to insiders and complaint. They’re criminals. Don’t buy an extended warranty, especially from Interstate National Dealer Services or their partners in crime, dealers who sell these fake warranties. If you do make that mistake, be sure to cancel it immediately. Don’t wait for a refund that will never come. File a dispute with your credit card company or the bank you used to make payment and provide proof that you followed cancellation procedures such as records of telephone calls and copies of written cancellation notices.. File a complaint with your state attorney general so they can shut down this scam and prosecute the ring leaders. Also file a complaint with the FCC for illegal telemarketing calls. .
