It was Wednesday when one of my friend came to me and asked me that if I can help him financially since his daughter is not well and his business is also about to end due to incurring huge losses every day. I helped him for the treatment of his daughter. He further asked me that if I could get him more money so that he can start his business. I asked him to have patience and promised him to help him with any such company who lends money for business startups. Therefore, I started looking for such companies so that I can help him. While searching, I got to know about LENDING TREE. They claim to provide funding sources to the businessmen to start up their new business at a very minimal cost. Therefore I immediately decided to call them to ask their quotation and plans. But the services I got was really very disappointing. The manager firstly talked to me very politely and sent the workers. The workers came little late than the expected time. Unfortunately, it was really very upsetting to see that the workers were really very unorganized and also unhygienic. They had no manners to behave. They didn’t even talk to us properly and even destroyed some of my office goods. They broke my favorite flower vase. I was really very disappointed by their services and I immediately called their manager again. He promised me better working and asked for the payment. I transferred the amount to his bank account but still wasn’t satisfied with the services. I again called him, but this time I was amazed to hear him. He talked to me like he didn’t even know me and used really very bad language which was not at all acceptable.
Later I realized, that they had no sense of this field of money and just attracting the money by the customers through making fake promises. They just make false commitments to convince the customers and later deny of their duties. I would never recommend anyone to have their services.
They are unprofessional and just keep you haging there
LendingTree launched its website in 1998 with the purpose of providing consumers a one-stop-shop for loans.
As they claim that they will give you quite good and proper loans you need to know that there are a lot of cases of fraud which they have done. For get good and proper, they will not even give you the loan after months of hanging around!
And here comes the drawback as it is a loan lending company and where loans are concerned you need to be quite sure before applying for it. They told me that they will give me a loan of $80000 and I was assured of a very low rate of interest. But when the loan was passed they said they could only give me $30000. I was not keen to take the amount as I needed around $80000. They said that my files were not proper and they would need more information to give out the loan. I asked if I could reapply. They said I could. Then I reapplied and that just took 4 months after which they rejected the loan outrightly! No more $30000 or anything. They said I has problems in my taxes. They explained something that I did not even understand. They once said it was because of my taxes then again they said that they could not lend out because my credit score was low. But in a few weeks I got loan from another financial company. These people are fraud.

Filled a lot of the info out on Lending Tree but never followed through, ended up deciding to hold off on a loan. A few weeks later, the telemarketing calls started. Took a look at Lending Trees Non-Privacy policy and it looks like they pretty much say in black and white they will sell your information to almost anyone. It has been a year now and I still get 1 or 2 a week from mortgage companies or home alarm places and just random companies that have caller ID numbers that redirect to no where. www.lendingtree.com/legal/privacy-policy/ Really sleezy practice on Lending Trees side and that alone lends a lot of credence to the complaints I have read on this board. Anyway, take a look at privacy policies before you put real info into and online form.
LendingTree Reviews & Complaints
First, I received an alert letter from LendingTree that my information may have been stolen. My major complaint at this time is that when I called them back and told them they sent the letter to a “David” Cantrell, but mailed it to me, Laura Cantrell at my address, they would not divulge any information to me about this person. I said, well I need to know if it”s a typo or something worse. I do not know a David Cantrell. I asked for a supervisor, Jeff Moore x 7677 out of Charlotte. I employed, won”t you work with me on this? This is pretty scary to me? Who is this David Cantrell using my address. They would not help me. The only advise they gave me was to look at my credit report. Well, this isn”t letting me know if this David Cantrell is using my address, my good credit or anything else.

LendingTree Reviews & Complaints
I started the process of refinancing my home at the beginning of December. They reviewed our documents and said we would qualify for a refinance. They charged $400 for an appraisal, which was performed. After six weeks of submitting document after document, and dealing with 2 different agents, they cancelled our loan request. They said they could not verify my husband’s employment. He is employed and also self employed business owner! All of our documents proved it. The folks at Lending Tree closed our on line account leaving us with no access to our documents. In my opinion, Lending Tree is just after your $400. They have horrible customer service, poor communication, and I will never ever deal with them again.
LendingTree Reviews & Complaints
I used Lending Tree for a refinance and feel their business practices are unethical at best. After speaking with a loan officer, I was given some numbers over the phone and was told I needed to lock in right away so as to not let this excellent rate slip away. I felt the pressure to act quickly and agreed to pay the $600 non-refundable deposit (which I still have no idea what I received by paying this money). I did not receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) until after the $600 was charged, but was told my closing costs would amount to approximately $4, 000 on a $180K loan. From that point I supplied all the necessary documentation and set up a time for their approved appraiser to come to my house and perform the appraisal. I had to keep emailing my service representative, Geo Garcia, to verify he had all the necessary documentation. He was pleasant enough to deal with when speaking to him on the phone. I then received a copy of the appraisal and it met the qualifications for the loan. At this point, I was assured by Geo that everything was ahead of schedule and that it should be clear sailing for the rest of the way. I checked in a few more times (as I never heard anything back) and he stated it was in underwriting and that just takes time (approximately 3 weeks). On the last day I had to sign the paperwork to meet the deadline before the rate expired (the rate I had paid $600 to lock in), I received a call from Geo stating that someone with Lending Tree did not agree with the appraisal (the appraisal done by their approved appraiser) and was therefore revaluing my property at $40K less than its appraised value. This dramatically reduced my loan and I was upset and confused. I made it clear that I didnt feel this was correct and requested to speak with the person who made this adjustment (as Geo did not claim to understand why this change was made, only that my loan would now need to be adjusted). Geo stated that I could not speak to anyone about this, but I was allowed to give Lending Tree comparables that justified the value reached by their own appraiser. I did this (following all of their guidelines regarding proximity to subject and date of sale). Geo acknowledged that the comparables seemed to justify their original appraisers estimate, but it would need to be reviewed by people I could not communicate with. He stated this could take up to three business days to complete the entire review process. He also explained that the 30 day rate would be able to be extended to accommodate the time required for the review process. After emailing or calling every day, I finally was told (five business days later) that those controlling the decision rejected the comparables as well as their own appraiser. I was still able to get a loan through them, although it would be for $30K less, the closing costs would actually be higher (now $7K) and I would need to pay an additional $400 to lock the rate for additional 10 days (as my rate lock had now expired). Additionally, there was no way to get back my $600 deposit back if I decided to not refinance my loan through them as a result of the change in the loan amount. I want this to serve as a cautionary tale for those deciding to do business with Lending Tree. They dont care about your loan and once they have your $600, and I feel like they are free do what they like (change the finance charges, decline their own appraisers value by someone who isnt from the same state and hasnt even seen the house) and the service drops precipitously as the consumer has no repercussions and no way of getting back the $600. My greatest complaint was that I was never given an explanation as to why the value of my property was significantly reduced from their own appraisers review by someone in a different state who was neither an appraiser nor had ever seen my property. Do yourself a favor and go with a local bank you can trust or at least an institution that doesnt charge the upfront, non-refundable fees.
