I had Bronchitis this past december 2013 and went to Patient First on December 12/23/13 (located in Silver Spring, MD). As soon as I arrived, X-ray and blood work were ordered before being seen by a doctor. I am 50 yrs old and get the bronchitis once a year since I was a teenage boy. Never ever ever a doctor ordered a boold work for these symptoms. Anyway they offered me to buy the medication from them and I specifically asked if the price would be the same as CVS’s and the lady responded affirmatively. After the doctor was done with me, I paid $50.00 Copay and $30.00 for 6 pills and an inhaler, then left. Today (01/10/2014), I got a bill from Patient First (Located on 5000 cox rd, Glen Allen, VA) stating that I owe them more because the insurance did cover everything. Here is my problem with the bill: it has a due date of 01/15/2014 and has absolutely no details: it says paid this amount. I had surgeries with the same insurance and never paid a penny besides the $50.00 copay I then contacted Patient First and spoke to a lady. All she wanted to know is how I was going to pay. I requested a copy of what they billed my insurance, and asked for an itemized bill so I can figure out , if any, logical math. I am extremely disappointed with these practices that completely disregard the well being of patients and focus solely on increasing their profits. Hay – Silver Spring Maryland
