I received two letters today from a company I’d never heard of for a speeding violation I know I never was ticketed for in a town I’ve never been to. The company is Pioneer Credit Recovery and they want me to pay $175.01 for speeding in Hancock County, Mississippi. As I’m not prone to speeding and I know I’ve never been stopped in Mississippi, much less Hancock County, I was suspicious of the letters. Both letters claim that I’ve disregarded all other corespondance from their company and this is my final notice. Rather than throw the notices in the garbage can, I chose to call the customer support number. The person on the other end of the line asked for my name, which I gave to her, but then she asked for my date of birth. When I refused to give my date of birth until I could verify the company’s validity, the operator quickly huing up the phone on me. I called again but this time, I gave a bogus date of birth. The operator corrected me with my actual date of birth! When I mentioned to her that I had just checked her company out online and all I was able to find for Pioneer Credit Recovery was scam stories, SHE hung up on me. At no time did I lose my composure or become difficult. This is a new technique to me but one you should be aware of. If you know you’re paying all of your fines and you’re suspicious by nature, make sure you vet anything you receive in the mail that asks for your money. I have no doubt these jokers are up to no good.

My wages were garnished by Pioneer Credit
My wages were garnished by Pioneer Credit Recovery for $200.87. Before my wages were garnished, Pioneer Credit Recovery was informed by Great Lakes that that my account was consolidated and paid in full by Great Lakes. Pioneer garnished my wages anyway and Great Lakes informed me that Pioneer had to return the funds to me, or the funds could be applied to my account with Great Lakes. I keep getting the run around with Pioneer about the location of the funds. Pioneer kept saying that they never received the funds until I got in contact with my payroll department and found out that the monies were sent to Pioneer Credit at PO Box 158, Arcade NY 14009. My payroll department gave me proof that the funds were in fact sent to Pioneer. Now every time I contact Pioneer Credit to find out where my money went, they keep telling me that the funds were sent to Great Lakes to apply to my account. Great Lakes said they have not seen a dime from Pioneer Credit and it has been about a month now. When I try to email Pioneer Credit on their website www.pioneercreditrecovery.com, I continue to receive a system error message and my emails never make it to them. I am tired and restless trying to get in contact with someone with Pioneer Credit Recovery. They need to either forward my funds to Great Lakes, or send my money back to me. I think they are trying to keep my money and hope that I will forget about it and let it go, but thats not going to happen.
