We recently purchased a brand new camper and since we live in a Condo, we searched for a secured outside storage facility. Running Hill Road Self Storage advertises security to include cameras and fenced in area so we contracted to rent an outside storage space. Two weeks after we had parked our camper, we noticed that someone had used something to try to break in through the door using some sort of tool that crimped the door. We reported this to the attendant who assured us they would report it to the owner. A week goes by….nothing. So we called and spoke to the owner who offered us to bring the door to his shop and he could fix it. It’s a brand new camper…we wanted a new door. No follow-up A month later as we attempted to gain access to our unit we were denied entry. We went into the office to find out that we had been locked out due to non-payment of $8 for a lock. It’s an outside space, why would we purchase a lock? After much conversation they admitted it was their error. Last weekend we were vandilized again. This time someone had switched out our brand new battery for a piece of crap and we may have not noticed it for some time (battery has a cover) except when we hooked up electric at the campground…..well you know what can happen. We cooked the battery but thankfully nobody was hurt and no further damage that we know of. We reported this to the owner of the storage facility to inform him that we would be filing a police report. He didn’t care. We asked him about the survalience cameras and he explained he would place them in phase II of his construction but no date in site and no money to do it. We figure it was someone else that had storage there or maybe one of the staff members. Needless to say we will not be returning there and have since found another secured storage facility and made sure that they had cameras. .
