I have been trying to add beneficiaries on my funeral plan since last year however, till to date it has not been finalised as yet. Whenever I send emails nobody replies to my emails. I have sent previous correspondence complaining similar case, and nothing seems to have been done. I send emails to check the status my case however nobody replies to my emails. If resolving matters like these its this difficult, I wonder how long will it takes whenever I”ll have to claim. It is important for your organization to be customer driven otherwise you”ll loose your competitive advantage over your competitors who takes customer service more serious than you do.

I have taken a funeral plan from Sanlam Sky insurance to insure my mother, I discovered after 10 months that the person who is insured in the policy is not my mother but an unknown person and I immediately asked sanlam to cancell the policy and refund me all premiums I paid on the policy. Sanlam cancelled the policy but refuses to refund me saying the problem on my policy was their capturing error but not a fraudulent act as I had alleged on my affidavit. I therefor am not satisfied with their reasons not to refund me and I feel I deserved to be refunded the premiums because the policy was at the end of the day not the product I was sold and bought and was a sanlam mistake

I keep getting mail – presumably confidential – for an individual who does not live at my address. Numerous times I have returned it to sender. As the mail looks important, I thought I would email you on 01 October about the problem. On 02 October I got an automatic reply to say that you would be in contact with me. It is now nearly a month later and I have heard nothing from you. Surely this is an issue you should respond to promptly. I am trying to assist both you and this individual but it seems that you just don’t care. I have done my job as a concerned citizen. I am just very surprised at your lack of interest.

I submitted my claim to sanlam sky I even had to fill in the forms twice I had to pay 2doctors to fill in the forms then when I finally submit the forms I receive a phone call to say that my claim would take 10days to be processed then after 12days I decide to phone and they tell me my claim hasn”t been processed because the doctors report didn”t declare me permanently disabled so now my claim won”t be paid out however not once in a 5year period was this ever explained to me but now that I have to claim they come up with this technicality.

I took two policies with Sanlam in June 2009 they were suppose to deduct from my bank account but they never did, in January 2010 back from my annual leave I saw deductions from my salary I immediately contacted the call centre & was told that the policy was never taken so I was told to fax a covering letter, ID copy, bank statement in order to get a refund, they will stop the deductions of which I did.Up until now my money is deducted & everytime I call they tell me to do the same thing. I don’t know what to do anymore pls I need advice.I even went to their offices in Bellville, Cape Town they promise to sort this out but they are still deducting.
