After doing extensive research into large area infrared heaters, I found that heaters featuring PFC heating elements were more efficient and much longer lasting than heaters utilizing halogen bulbs as a heat source. I then found sveral manufacturers using PFC elements and I chose an “EnergySaver Infrared Heater” from The Infrared Heater Store. These heaters touted a 3 year warranty and an 80,000 hour heating element lifespan. The 3 year warranty was listed on the website at the time, it is listed in the owners manual and the dealer stated that if anything went wrong with the heater during the warranty period, just return it for a repair or replacement. Within a month of receiving the heater, I noticed that there was no difference between the high, low and economy heat settings and the two speed fan had only one speed. I contacted the dealer customer service department via email several times regarding these problems but I never heard back from them. (I should have known I was in trouble at that point) My heater quit working just short of its 2 year anniversary, however when I contacted thr dealer they told me that it only had a 2 year warranty, and since I waited until a few days after the 2 year date they would not honor the warranty. The dealer instructed me to contact the manufacturer (in China) for the extended warranty repair, however they could not provide me with the manufacturers contact information. If this were simply a $30.00 heater from my local hardware store or Walmart, I would not really be too terribly upset, however I could have bought more than 6 of those $30.00 heaters for what I paid for this heater. I believe that since the dealer advertised the three year warranty at the time I purchased the heater they should repair or replace it at this time, or at the very least, provide me with the manufacturers contact info. .
