I received a pop-up warning when visiting a new website that addressed me personally and told me that my computer was under attack and that I needed to call a toll free number for security advisment. I am in the UK for the first time and thus believed it was legit so I called with direct step-by-step guidance, I authorized USA Live Technician – Online Resolve to access my computer remotely through downloaded software. They opened up something on my computer that listed a bunch of code that I didnt understand and pointed to several lines directly insisting that “this is the hacker stealing your personal info”” I VERY HESITANTLY began to believe them and VERY BEGRUDGINGLY authorized a payment to the company to provide me a year of heavy software protection and a year of customer support. My card was declined thankgoodness and it wasnt until much later when I googled the company that I realized I had been the victim of a cyber attack.
